What's the best way to get rid of the festy yellow stain on plastic parts on my machine i just picked up?
Tried Novus and it works ok on flat surfaces but is almost impossible to get in inside corners and detailed bits.
What would be the best stuff to soak them in without stripping off paint?

That's filthy !
Use a really hard toothbrush with some Nifti, or Orange Solvent. Try a test first - don't go crazy until you are pleased it is not removing any paint
-
I have heard of people using a dishwasher in an attempt to clean their plastics.
There are some risks involved, though...
-
Somewhere in between Nifty & Eucalyptus Oil should do the trick, obviously try somewhere hidden before killing your item(s).

I did read somewhere of someone successfully soaking their plastic in a bucket with water and nifti. Difficult to test first - it's an all or nothing method.
So the toothbrush sounds safest, with one of the products mentioned so far.

OK, thanks for the reply's BUT where the heck do i get Nifti from?????
I've tried Bunnings, Woolies and Coles...unless i'm looking in the wrong section?

Nifti is harder to find these days - best cleaner on the market. They used to be stocked in the $2 shop years ago. Now I can only find the trigger nifti bottles - at $4 each. Refills are impossible to find.
My wife buys them for me at Coles - but they are always low on stock - she is going to call up the Nifti people and give them a blast soon %.%

Weird how it's so hard to get, we always bought ours at Safeway for the past 30+ years with no probs, maybe try them too?
-
I've bought mine in the general cleaning isle at both Coles and Safeway....
Never seen it at Bunnings though

I found the motherload of Nifti supplies.....at "Maxi" supermarkets.

You need to let me know where you do your shopping mate! <.>

Finally got some at another Coles store (or my wife did), apparently IGA also stock Nifti.
Let a couple of bits soak overnight and it certainly improved but did not take all the yellow stain out, particularly on lips and edges. From what i understand its a chemical reaction, so probably not much will do any more - except a repaint.

It might be worth investigating these links:-

http://www.using-hydrogen-peroxide.com/free-cleaning-tips-yellowed-plastic.html (http://www.using-hydrogen-peroxide.com/free-cleaning-tips-yellowed-plastic.html)
If the plastic is of similar composition and the yellowing is caused by a similar process, then this might assist.
As always, test something inconsequential, or in an inconspicuous area first.
If you do try either of these, please let us know the results as there will be a lot of interest if you find either of these successful.
