Title: Hiya
Post by: pocketscience on December 05, 2014, 12:26:23 AM
Hey all,

Just a quick hi!

I'm soon to take delivery of my first pinball machine since I was a kid (won one on a TV show a million years ago!). It's a DE Checkpoint - mainly because I'm a Porsche tragic... don't judge me! :)

Anyway, would love to hear from anyone who's done anything with a CP - a quick search didn't reveal much at all..

Cheers,

Cars and pinballs have something in common. They are fun, collectable, and they multiply.

Thanks for all the welcomes guys! Today is new pin day! My Checkpoint arrived just a few hours ago. Got it setup and powered on just to ensure it was working after it's trip down from QLD. Everything seems awesome! :-)

Well, awesome for a ~25yo machine. It's working fine, but the cabinet needs some TLC. I've been searching around for stencils or decals for the cabinet artwork - it looks like it was stencilled originally, but not sure. Anyway, if anyone knows how one might redo the artwork I'd love to hear about it! I found a good source of plastics etc in the US last week when I was there - Bay Area Amusements - great people, and reasonable prices compared to eBay.

Faster!

Congratulations on the new game, new pin day is awesome!   #*#

I'm not sure if anyone's done cabinet decals for this machine yet but I think originally the Checkpoint art was direct screen printed on to the cabinets. I could be wrong there but Hopefully someone will confirm.
