my new aquisition (RFM) has a major deep scratch on the playfield glass. Unsure as to the depth as I haven't picked it up yet but its 1mm+ deep I suspect. Any thoughts as to whether that can be repaired or not and if so any particular glass repairer.

I believe glass can be polished, but I don't know if this would help.
I understand P2K glass is special / or different to normal glass. Is it expensive to replace?

Yes p2k glass i different to normal glass it has a tint so the display reflects of it and im told it is expensive if you can get it. SPeak to Mark C he would know.

A 1mm deep scratch is one hell of a scratch to cut back to - especially in safety glass. You cant cut this etc - it just shatters... its tempered once its cut.
What you can do though is minimise the damage. If you run some spit along it with your finger youll notice it fades out a bit. Thats because the edges of the scratch are rough and so deflect light. if you run some clear glue like super glue or clear nail varnish into the scratch itll be less noticeable. Really all you need to do is smooth off the rough edges of the scratch

What about that stuff O'Briens inject into windscreen cracks?

Im pretty sure o'briens can only fix "bullseye" chips BEFORE they become cracks. Only designed for ver small chips so i dont think it will work. !@#

How do you polish out minor stuff then? I have 2 glasses with lotsa minor wear.

Unfortunately it looks like if you can feel the scratch with your fingernail, very hard to get it out...
If the glass is tinted, wouldnt turning it over lessen the look of the scratch?

Getting the machine hopefully this w/end so can have a closer look. I recall it being down low where maybe there isn't any tinting etc

thanks for the suggestion. I'm treating this machine as a mini project so will probably try a couple of options to see if any work.
