Title: Superbands
Post by: intopins on March 28, 2015, 07:16:06 PM
Hey guys, just wanted to see who else may have tried these? I bought some a while back and just got around to installing them on Metallica.

Amazed how much better they are than the standard rubbers. So much easier to control the ball and way less bouncy. The control of the ball increases by 50% and for a crap player like me makes all the difference!! Lol.

I highly recommend them if you haven't got them.

So they are like old worn out rubbers?

The best and the post ones are great. They don't fray like std rubbers

I guess I meant that the rubbers that came with machine couldn't be controlled like Superbands. They making catching the ball easier and have less impact so as to make them have more control....makes sense???

I tried them on my Indy flippers. For me they seemed really grippy. Looked amazing on the machine. Ended up changing back to standard rubber in the end but interested what others think.

I use super bands on my posts but don't like them on the flippers :)

Yesterday i dropped a tub full of them and they went everywhere ! I've never used them, but I think they would look great on a game. They seem to be the "in thing" at the moment. RTBB is a authorized distributor, so feel free to drop in and I'll give you a set of flipper rubbers to try out for me !

A lot of pinheads have tried them & gone back to std rubbers, I use them on all my pins & they look great & clean up well, I did noticed you get slight more punch of the bat from my Older SS games

Me like very much.
look good, feel good and clean up good. True that they are not as bouncy for some of the TRICKS, but the bounce in rubbers soon dissipate and the SUPERBANDS remain constant in their form.

I don't mind them, my Centaur came with clear ones on the flippers. They look good, clean up easily and I haven't noticed a huge difference in performance compared to standard rubbers but my experiance with them is limited to the flippers.

I think they LOOK great there is no doubt but be aware that the life expectancy is a LOT lower than standard rubber. For home use this is probably fine but for operators it would not be a wise move to use them IMO.

I have had a lot of discussions with the industrial chemists from a very professional rubber moulding factory about pinball rubber and initially I wanted to use this type of silicon compound in my machines but from what I have learned the compound will not last anywhere near as well as standard rubber.

Again this is probably fine for home use but I can't supply them in new machines for warranty reasons and potential claim issues.

Of course they would say that, they want to sell you rubber! Oh and it looks like they have  %$%
Superbands are polyurethane I believe, little bit of difference there Mike. I only use these on flippers so far.
I use Pinball Centre silicone rubber, it is AWESOME gear for longevity and still going strong on some routed machines.
NO breaks and easy to clean

I have them on all my pins ..
it look a bit of time to get use to them
and i am a fan of them.. ^^^

I found if i purchased the standard flipper rubbers from OS they were soft and the edge perished quickly
and from suppliers in AU they were hard (maybe older stock)

Super bands are available here:

They can also sell me silicone and it is much cheaper than rubber - they were simply warning me about the life expectancy. As I said, for home use I doubt there will be any problems and I agree they look great.

Nice offer thanks. At this stage I have all the rubbers I need but will definitely keep RTBB in mind for future stock orders.

Glad to see there are a few lovers of this product out there...played a few more games over the weekend and still think these are better to play with....time will tell.
