$3200 landed...quite a bit of money but happy to pay it for a machine I want...also think it would get that on Ebay if not more anyway....will need to pay GST on it but Paul's 50's is going to sort something out to help on the GST and will need to pay some other fees...so guessing around $3600 to $3800 all up....still where else am I going to find a HH like this??

That's about right - and $3600 is a starting price on a HH here in Australia. They usually go at around $4300 - $5500. These days - closer to $4000 Depending on condition. Since this is a keeper pin, money is not object sometimes

Paul you would struggle to find a machine of that vintage in such good cosmetic condition, grats!

Paul would you mind listing us all the costs to get her here? I have looked at this guy's stuff, and wondered what it all amounts to in the end. Of course you may not know all the costs until you have it out of customs.
 #*# great score!

Hey Paul - The customs Agent will call you when the machine arrives - and if you have a ute - you can save yourself $150 if you pick it up. They automatically assume you want it delivered.

I wouldn't stress about the board issue, there are some Sys80 experts here (not me).  Ground mods are easy.

Top shelf collection!

Congrats paul,

This pin looks in great condition, paul is good to deal with, when I purchased my bally corvette (over 4 years ago) he emailed me heaps of photo's of 2 machines then I got choose which machine I wanted. The pin was well packaged, from memory the customs at this end was around $650 to $700aud. My pinball landed cost me around $3,500 - $3,600 including the customs paperwork.

My pin was also air freighted out as well, it was here within a few days. From memory I think you have the choice of which customs agency handles the clearance, ring around for prices??

good luck, exciting week ahead.

Two great choices for the "Dark side" - Even if you get the opportunity to play Rocky, Spirit, Fathom, Medusa or Black Knight - These are awesome games to play - not many DMDs are their equal.

EMs - don't get me started  %.%

That's why the entries don't correspond to whats on my invoice. They should have given you a firm price - unless they have not yet received the pin.

$4200 doesn't seem too bad Paul . If ,and I stress "IF" ,one was to come up for sale in Australia I reckon in the condition that yours is in it would sell for $3.5k - $4k anyway so the little bit extra is chicken feed . Best to pay that tiny bit extra and get your dream pin in your line-up than miss out and regret not buying it later. Congrats again mate.

WOW   ^%^

I love it.  Great looking machine.  You are a very lucky man to have both a BH and HH!

Have you 'popped the hood' yet?  I take it you're getting the Pascal board for it?  If you run one of these boards I take it ground mods are not necessary?

Also check if that orange cap is in the lower power section too...

I've got a few pop bumper boards (originals) if you need one for the upkicker mod too.!

Don't stress about the pbb's.  If you are happy with original's (rather than Rottendog replacements) PM me your address and I'll send em for nothing...BUT they are original and un modded and havn't been tested working in game but I can test transistor only for you.

RE sound...Does it still have original sound board and power supply for it?  What are the voltages like?  Also was the orange cap replaced in game?
Title: Re: Haunted House..Pascal board IS NOW HERE....yipppeeeeee
Post by: Strangeways on July 24, 2009, 08:11:19 PM

I think you still have to use the original sound board.
Title: Re: Haunted House..Pascal board IS NOW HERE....yipppeeeeee
Post by: The pinballist formally known as Dean Morgan on July 24, 2009, 08:24:39 PM
Re Sound check all voltages at the board.

There is a seperate power supply for this board, but the 5v still comes from the main power supply.

If all voltages are present, do you get a hum through the speakers when you trn the game on?  Turn the volume up is there a hum?  If the hum is there this proves the AMP is working.

It is always a good idea to replace the four electrolitic capacitors on the board as they are well past the design life and can drag the board down.  Another problem is quite often the 2 DAC ICs fail.

Anyway report back, Im sure we can fix it.

If the display glass and nipple are intact, it will only be one of the driver chips faulty.  These are available at $10 each and easy to desolder.  If you want it repaired let me know what it is doing or if its totally blank and I will tell you which chip to replace.  Or if you want post it to me and I will repair and post back.  Cost of parts and postage only.

I swapped the long front legs of the hh for the short ones on the back of the Genie...
All good...no need for blocks of wood under the back legs anymore...

Akways the way...Just before the next meet the HH has stuffed up....No displays working at all but the game still plays fine.....and the display fuse is still ok...anyway hopefully MickB will be able to fix her up....Must have been Wotto's fault Im guessing..lol

Does the credit display work?  Is it only the 4 player displays out?  If so missing 63 volts from power supply, check connector on the power supply (vertical one on right hand side) or power supply could be faulty.

No all the displays are out...and there is no power supply board as such because i have the pascal board in it..

Paul- in all seriousness - it doesn't matter if all the displays are out - let's play the championship on that game.

Mate - I don't think it will matter one bit if the displays aren't working for your meet - we will be just be happy to actually PLAY the game and be able to see such a clean example.

Poor Mick  #@# Don't push the bugger to hard, remember he is nearly 50  :lol :lol

hmmm nominating any pin to be a "comp" machine seems to make the buggers malfunction!

Looks like the pins take the "no wagering" seriously  <.>

Hope you can get it back to health easily enough mate!

Cheers

All good...I spoke to Pascal....and he gave me some tips...
The 60v Led is out....so the fuse on the Pascal Board has blown....
Maybe a display using too much power Pascal thinks...
So all good...will grab a couple of fuses and if one display is dodgy I will just take it out...
So should have a working HH for the meet yet..lol
