All i ever read about Hankins Orbit 1 is people putting shit on it, they say it's a skidder, has shit game play and is the worst of all the Hankins.
I bought one last year in really nice condition and it probably sees more play than any other one of my machines. It has everything i love about pinball boiled down (cept ramps).
The objectives are clear and simple, they are achievable, but not every ball. A good game still leaves me feeling like i've had a good game.
So enough justification, it's off to Mitch's tomorrow with it. The backglass is excellent, the playfield is really nice. I do need an apron or to get Mitch to redo the one that's in it. It's mostly the cab, which is in excellent condition from what i can only assume is an older restore, certainly doesn't look like it spent twenty years in a fish shop.
I'm really hoping he'll do a restore thread on it so i don't have to nag him for progress details &&

Of all the Hankins I have played I like this one the best. Good choice.

Thanks, i'm really looking forward to getting it back.

Good to see Hankins getting some love. Especially in Mitch's hands. Will be an awesome resto and player when done !

Orbit 1 delivered to me this morning. Overall the machine is in pretty nice shape, Beautiful backglass and very nice playfield, just as punkin said.
Its here primarily for a cab restore, and playfield strip and clean.. Game works and plays, only a couple of switch problems to sort out, but will give everything under the playfield a good going through and rectify any other issues i find.
Will do a resto thread when i start on it *%*

Yep, looking forward to watching the progress. Wondering how you are going to do the apron, was thinking maybe a new piece of perspex and get it printed locally as a decal or printed direct to the perspex? Someone may want the FJ one is all.

Just to cap this thread, Mitch ended up doing a freshen rather than a full stencil job on the cab. Very happy with how it turned out and just sourced some new chrome legs that came today.

Very Nice Job. These titles are getting VERY hard to find.
