Title: Bally Party Zone head gearbox
Post by: PinPal on August 06, 2020, 07:22:05 PM
Had a interesting problem and fix for my Bally Party Zone. Powerd it up to have a game and first I got a error message, Cptn B,zarrs head was not turning.
I checked the motor and gearbox and I was not able to rotate it by hand and seamd to be binding. ^&^
Gearbox was only changed sum years ago. After disassembling to my amazement I found a small screw that came from a pop bumper cap and fell through the playfeild and got wedged between the gearbox housing and the bottom of the rotating shaft.
After removing the screw I gave the unit a clean and adjustment, tested and all working again... $#$

I've currently got an issue whereby I can't use the flippers to move the 'BOP' around or choose a song at request time or move the cursor when entering my initials for a high score.

Have you had a similar issue and how did you fix?

Driving me nuts after a tech had made some other adjustments / fixes.

thanks.
