Is there a product available to section off parts of the playfield, run along lines etc. so I can touch up, and then remove later without lifting paint. Some type of tape would have to be the best/easiest/most accurate solution, but I'm worried about tape lifting paint when removed. Any ideas??

Yes hobby shops sell it.. the putty is good also.
Tape comes in various widths from 3mm to 18mm... its not that cheap - approx $8 or so for a small roll.. but this stuff is bloody great, doesnt pull of paint and no leeching.
Ebay is not a bad place to get it either
