Hi Guys,
Not a nice way to start the day but father, husband and long time pinball collector Nick Ferros was killed in a car accident yesterday afternoon.
Nick was from the Far North Coast of NSW, was a great guy and a mate. He was an operator as was his Father.
Just a week before Christmas - don't take life for granted.
-
Terrible News. My condolences to the family.
It is a shocking time of year for car accidents - Be safe on the roads..
-
Sorry to hear the loss of a good friend, Tony
Life is very precious and family even more so.
-
That is just terrible news. My thoughts go out to you Tony and Nick's family. Something you just don't want to hear about this time of year.
-
Awful news, my condolences to his family & friends.

Obviously this guy affected many lives, some that are here. My sympathies to all who knew him.

Nick was the one who was responsible in getting me actively involved in collecting pinballs, really helped me out a lot when I was a noob and we become good friends through our appreciation of pinballs. He was one of the nicest and most sincere people I have ever met and will be missed by all. !!!
Was the owner of the High Hand playfield that I just finished and handed back to him on Tuesday.

That is really sad to hear.
From what I'm reading, he was very active within the community and sounded like the kind of guy that would take the shirt off his back for you. Pinball is a hobby that needs good people.

sorry to hear this Tony
my thoughts are with you and Nicks family

If anybody wants to send a card or flowers, please PM me for details.
His funeral is Christmas Eve
As mentioned in the original post - please dont take life for granted - having heaps of cool games means jack shit.
Nick leaves behind a wife and 4 children - all the games in the world don't make it any easier for them.
If you are married - go hug your wife, if you have children - do the same and tell them you love them.
Personally I almost lost my perfect daughter through a massive seizure in the middle of the night 18 months ago, my wife and I took 5 years to conceive her. There is no more of a wake up call than holding your child in your arms when you think she is about to die.
I almost lost my Dad this year also - once again the biggest wake up call.
Christmas is about family - appreciate what you have today guys as it mighten be around tomorrow.

Nick's funeral is to be held at 11am on Wednesday 24/12/08, at St Joseph's Primary School in Coraki Road Woodburn inside the school chapel.
For anyone local who would like to attend.
