Title: My Jungle Queen Restore - pics
Post by: Chuck on April 15, 2010, 11:18:21 AM
Here they are. The varathane is still curing so I haven't polished/
waxed the playfield. I didn't touch the cabinet yet. And yes, there is
a plastic missing in the upper left corner (on it's way.) I also have
new posts I'll install in a bit. I was too cheap to buy new drops so I
re-created the monkey, printed him on decals paper, and mylared that. I
personally created all of the decals on the playfield (all flowers,
dish graphics, drop graphics, double bonus graphics, inserts - which I
made a little thicker than original cuz I like them that way, same
player shoots again, inner lane bonus graphics, gottlieb banner.)
Cleared in varathane. This will be the last major playfield restore
for me as it's a pain in the ass! ;-) I also did some quick graphics
for the apron as the right side and middle were pretty messed up.

I'll do the cabinet in the summer when it's a tad warmer outside.

Very nice. Can see a lot of work has gone into that.

Must have taken some serious hours to get the playfield up to that standard. Well done.

Chuck - I linked the pictures for you within the post - hope you don't mind  :D

Stunning outcome - Looks like a beautifully clearcoated playfield and a huge PBR order !

Thanks guys. Very cool to see that there's a stencil kit. I wasn't looking forward to making one ;-) If any of you need any those playfield graphics for your JQ lemme know.

Looks most excellent, Chuck!

You should post some of the progress pics that you posted on facebook. Was neat to watch the process!

Immaculate looking playfied ..... the "pain-in-the-arse" effort has truly paid off.

I looked at the hot pressed targets and they aren't nearly as clean as the ones I created.

That is a fantastic job Chuck.
I am doing my Jungle Queen at the moment and if it looked that good I would be very proud of the results.

Well Done!
