Just finished a scratchbuilt prototype rocket that resembles the PF art.
It has 3 water clear RED Leds (in series) in the "tail lens" which operate off the 6v GI via a new microswitch mechanically linked with the original rocket kicker microswitch. Hence the "engine" glows bright red whilst the ball is at rest in The Rocket.
Next effort will be a little better finished.

Cute little addition, well done

Looks good - nice to personalise the machine and matches well with the pf art ^^^

Looks great Max

Next effort:
Shitcanned the first rocket as the finish was dreadful !@)
Started again and decided to go with plain silver as per the translite artwork.
I'm much happier with the shape of this model too.
Used a 6v Orange LED for the "engine" 'cos I reckon it looks like the shape of a booster exhaust.
LED actuation is by a second cherry microswitch paired together with the kicker atuating one and I silver brazed a "bridge" across the switch levers so now they work from a common P/F wire trigger.
After very minor adjusments away she went.

good effort mate.
nicely done!

I like the second proto the best. Great effort

Very cool.... ^^^

Well done with the creation! I'm glad you changed to the second one as I would be too scared to travel into space on the first one>
The rocket seems to be the hardest toy to get hold of. Got most of the others, still need the clock between ramps, otherwise pretty much full off additions.

Very nice!
Are you going to put the 2 port holes in it? Would look perfect then i reckon. ^^^

Not to squash pinprick's rocket as the second one looks sweet.
Here is a US guy making them for pinheads.
