Title: Gottlieb Coin Door
Post by: millsy on February 19, 2009, 04:33:12 PM
Yes more questions from Millsy  ^&^
Ist question : My coin door has the hinge screws missing, hinge still attached to the cabinet but there does not seem to be threads on coin hinge side to srew in - threaded plate missing maybe ?(Cant check as I have just ordered parts book) - Hope this makes sense.
2nd question : The cabinet has been repainted completely different to original (Looks crap) -Hopefully original artwork is under paint so i can scan, but not sure if there is a stripper available that will leave the original artwork there.
Also after a backglass.
By the way,the machine is a 1973 Gottlieb Jumping Jack.
Thanks kev.

Need pix, Millsy.

From memory, the door is screwed onto a hinge nut strip using metal screws.

"Hinge" - Part number B-7196
"Hinge nut strip" Part number A-7181 (you are missing this - answer to Q1)

Then use woodscrews to mount the door.

Try Citrus Strip from Bunnings for question 2.

Do you have a backglass at all?

I can put you onto a guy in Vic with one but it is only probably 6/7 out of 10 condition wise.  Better then nothing if you dont have one?  But if you have one prob not much use to you.

Not too good at rating Backglasses. What would you rate my current BG ?

It is not that bad, Kev. I'd probably seal it from further deterioration, and look at the possibility of touching it up.

The area to improve is around the score windows.

Hey Millsy,
If you wanna new Jumping Jack BG then Pinbaal Pal / Shay arcade Group have just released one.
Its USD$295 plus shipping obviously.
With the way the Aussie $ is at present its probably gonna cost about $600 - $700 by the time you get it here though.
