I wanted to get peoples opinions please.
On my AC/DC Pro, I have added the various mods, but still have a few to go, and wanted to get your opinion as to what colour I shld go with ?
I have already installed >
3 x Gibson Red Guitars (these would be soo much better in yellow cause the red is soo dark, I am thinking of painting some yellow)
2 x AC/DC Drums
3 x Mirror Finish Lightning Bolts
1 x Large Cannon Mod (to be installed today if I can work it out)
1 x Lassertriffic Topper Mod (to be installed tody)
I wanted to install the Bell Mod (swinging chrome newton ball which hits the target behind it) *has anyone got a spare they wish to sell ? PM me pls.
**So at this stage, I was looking at the boring browny/copper coloured AC/DC Bell (made from rubber if u didnt know !), and thought that the bells colour, it gets lost in the background, and I was thinking how much better it would look if the whole bell was painted in either mirror chrome, bright yellow like the playfield yellows already, or bright red, like the playfield reds already.
Then I would paint the AC/DC lettering the appropriate colour, matching the chrome, yellow, or red.
(Probably, black writing, Yellow bell, and if Chrome bell, do writing in black or red, if Red bell, do writing in chrome or black.
So if u have a AC/DC machine, look closely at your playfield, and imagine the large bell painted in either chrome, yellow or red, and give me your opinion please. !@# It will have a chrome ball hanging from it soon which will go with any of the chrome, yellow or red colours.
Pls advise, chrome bell, yellow bell, or red bell, and your thoughts please ! !@# ^^^ !@# ^^^
(I can buy a spare bell n keep it inside the machine in stock trim incase I ever want it stock again)

my le bib came with a RED christmas deco shiny bell,you should be able to get one of these from the factory.

any photos, cause i looked at acdc BIB and LTBR and they also came tith a std copper coloured bell.
I have never seen or heard of a factory red bell ?
thats one of the colours i thought might look good, or chrome or yellow.

Hard call mate, But after looking at some photos and remembering Pete's awesome machine i think red 'may' get lost also as there is alot of red on the playfield. Yellow i think would be too 'much', so i would consider the chrome i guess or perhaps black?

I have only seen copper, gunmetal grey and gold colour bells in ACDC concerts. Colour needs to be fairly authentic, like Rosie.

If your after in your face "bling" I'd go with chrome with acdc in black! Yellow would look tacky I'm thinking but the bell in red would blend nice.
I'd love to see it chrome it would look stunning.

I found 2 x different colours down the Masters Hardware Store today.
Mirror Gold or Miror Chrome. $15 a can, and enough in one can to do fifty bells.
Still cant decide ?? !@#

Ok, got a few pm's too, everyone is saying gold, will give that a go, n take some pictures if it works out OK.

UPDATE
I have painted the large AC/DC Bell in mirror Gold finish, and it looks sensational.
It comes out with a slightly stippled effect, and not 100 percent mirror finish because the bells surface is very grainy, but the gold, in its bright n shiny lovelyness looks 1 million percent bettr than stock.
Light reflects off the bell now alot, and the Gold finish is something I am hoping alot of people copy, because the bell now actually looks like a proper bell made of real Gold.
I dont jump on the other forums, maybe someone like Swinksy can copy parts of this thread over so other people, espescially those on Pinside see just how good the finish is, and maybe others in the USA will start modding their boring brown bells to chromey Gold or Chromey Silver if they like the end result.
Also, with my bell being Gold, and the swinging Ball mod being silver-chrome, they will make each other stand out n compliment each other as well which will look even better.

(dam I hate losing things - 43yrs old and I have alzheimers already - cant find the camera anywhere - been looking for bloody days)

I wanted other ACDC owners to throw their 2 cents worth in, so that they could see their choice of colour on the bell incase it helped them with their machine later on. If I had 2 x ACDC bells, I would have done 1 x bell in gold, and 1 x bell in silver, but alas, my Stern order is still in transit.

Heres a photo of the finished bell, although I just have to paint the letters a different colour before I put the bell back into the machine.
The photos dont do it justice, compared to how it now looks compared to before. Unfortunately, I took the photos at night in a dark room, but next time, I will take the video during daylight for a better effect. Originally, it looked dark n drab from factory, now, this shiny gold colour is the colour it should have always been.
Even if you didnt like shiny gold, but went with chrome silver, it is still a MASSIVE improvemnet over factory boring n dark.
I have ordered some extra bells from the USA, and I will paint some extras up in both gold n silver, so if anyone is interested in a upgraded one, let me know. You can keep the original one in the machine, or on your desk as a momento, but changing the colour is a vast improvement.
It looks even better in the machine with the lights on etc.
I will try n do a video when i find some time tomorrow, hopefully.
Also, I have spent $250 today on buying stuff to make myself a Super custom ACDC mod (mods) for the playfield, totally unrelated to this thread.
I purchased alot of hardware to make the batch of mods, which all come together to be part of one huge playfield mod.
I reckon this will be the best AC/DC mod (mods) in the world bare none ! Big call, but wait to u see what i have purchased, and how its going to be awesome. Look for another ACDC Mod thread this next 2 or 4 days.
Pictures below of the bell so far, with writing to be painted in another colour, then its done, then on to the Super ACDC Mod. !

I am going to do RED writing on the AC/DC raised lettering.
Might even try to do a white edging if my hand can stay steady enough.
I have been looking after my 3 year old maniac son all day by myself (hard work x 100) and paint n paint brushs and nice carpet with nearby new pinnys dont mix with him because if he gets his hands on any of it, it will end up everywhere, so when he is asleep tonight, I will finish off the lettering and do a few final photos.
Then its on to the Super AC/DC Mod (drum roll).lol ^^^

Bloody hell.. dont say that, it took him a whole page of decision making in the first place to just spray the damn thing any colour.. im not sure the world is ready for another should it be this or that thread.. BTW.. did anyone post this on Pinside on Brets behalf??

Thats fine, its all good. Not everyone is going to like a dramatic colour change.
It actually looks quite sweet on the playfield when re-installed. To me anyway, it looks like the colour it was always meant to be because the original colour is just so dark.
Also, as mentioned, the bell is made of rubber, not plastic, which I was surprised to find when i started painting it. Perhaps thats why Stern went with a dark colour, because making it bright gold or silver might have entailed a further step/process over n above just moulding it in the orig dark colour.
If someone did post it/part of this thread on another forum, that would be good, if not, no big deal. It will be better when i post some extra photos of the bell re-installed on the playfield. This is only one of several ACDC mods I am working on, and they will all tie in together, hence why i decided to go with the gold. I am going to paint some bells up in both silver and gold, and offer them to anyone who wants one, just to see how much better it looks. ^^^

OK, I have a couple of photos to add of the bell plus other usual mods around it.
Note - I hadnt painted the AC/DC letters on the bell at this stage of taking photos, but the lettering has been painted since and looks excellent.
Next photos I will add those updated photos.
I also have 3 guitars on the playfield.
One on the left front ramp.
One on the middle rear near the bell.
One guitar on the right ramp.
I also have 2 x drum mods.
One at the back near a guitar.
One drum near the cannon to gide the wires that it was designed to do.
You will see the mirrored lightning bolts (1 of the 4) on the last photos from memory.
ACDC Super MODs should get loaded soon, they are looking great.

I just noticed u can click on the photos and make them 5 times bigger for some really close up detail ! ^^^
Close ups show the Gold of the bell the best. I didnt turn the game on or any lights when I took the photos with the I.Phone. I think I would have had better results if I had of had more lighting, cause the bell reflects heaps of cool colours during a game when the light reflects off the Gold Bell.

Photos tomorrow with the AC/DC writing on the bell painted up, looks even better, then its photo time of the ACDC SUPER MODS, of the before, then the after photos will come later.
Will have to start a new thread probably, might add the super mod photos to both !
