Calling them bulbs puts me off - they are NOT bulbs. You plant bulbs in the garden.

They are lamps or lights or LED (Light Emitting Diodes)

+1 - Lack of product knowledge straight off the bat is a bit concerning.

I'm skeptical of all these LEDs hitting the market - especially the so called "cheap" LEDs that are absolute rubbish. I'm not saying these are, but you have to experiment until you find a supplier that has good quality LEDs.

Light " globes" are called Light "Bulbs" in Uk... once fashioned into thier appropriate package.. ie GE44 ..47.. 555 etc any northern hemisphere person would regard them as LED bulbs.. the bulb being the shaped item

Ahhh, the marvelous English language and countless double meanings. How much can a koala bear? Johny swore......not to do it again. When you're in love with a beautiful woman, it's hard. In Oz you ask for a rubber where in US you say eraser. Did I break the brake pedal of my car during my lunch break?

According to dictionary a bulb is:

1 a. A short, modified, underground stem surrounded by usually fleshy modified leaves that contain stored food for the shoot within: an onion bulb; a tulip bulb.
b. A similar underground stem or root, such as a corm, rhizome, or tuber.
c. A plant that grows from a bulb.

2. A rounded projection or part: the bulb of a syringe.

3. An incandescent lamp or its glass housing.

4. Anatomy A rounded dilation or expansion of a canal, vessel, or organ.

Definition of incadescent:

1. Emitting visible light as a result of being heated.
2. Shining brilliantly; very bright. See Synonyms at bright.
3. Characterized by ardent emotion, intensity, or brilliance: an incandescent performance.

So according to definitions, LED bulb could mean a lamp that shines brilliantly but then it is a diode after all and not a lamp and can't be planted in the ground like a bulb.

Let's just leave it as a LED just as we say ATM and not an ATM machine.

Another person to compare to never hurts. Will have to investigate it further.
Unless they have some sort of discount structure, they might find it hard to compete with places like Pinball Life which is where I visit/research, and they, PL, offer this discount structure

25-49 of same color lamp - 10% discount.
50-99 of same color lamp - 20% discount.
100-1000 of same color lamp - 30% discount.

$0.39 each -std pricing before above discount structure   555 or 44 style single LED.  Pretty hard to beat this quality and price when u buy 100 Leds at a time.
It also pays to check all Aussie sellers, IF they can compete with P/L.

I checked with that new website u gave Swinksy, and he does take PAYPAL, which means he has a modern payment set up already, even though he is just starting out, and u dont have to send money off to just anybody by a bank account, and u have paypal protection which is important as well.

Cavey has opened up a can of worms here   *%* As for this LED company, I think i'll stick to PL. Always good though to see other options.

Always a can of worms when u mention Paypal/Paypus.lol
The new company swinksy mentioned charges 75 cents a LED, a company like PL charges 39 cents a led before discount, which means the Bulb company is double the price ??  I used PL as a example cause i thought the new bulb company came from USA Pinside, so u can compare a USA company with a USA company.
Maybe he(Bulb guy) buys from a regular outfit and just loads some profit on top ? not sure, but his prices seem to be expensive.
I will have to investigate further.

Mike, paypal disputes/refunds are good for a few hundred bux in my experience, over that, and I am not sure how easy money gets returned. Hope I never have to find out.lol

I think he is getting them made as noticed a PB on the body of the led.

He has made a comment of discounts to be firmed up.

There are reports that various led providers in the US have colour fade issues.

Just have to watch and see.

Anyone can get their name on LEDs... i sell a lot of module type for internally lit signage.. buy 20,000 and i get my name on them.. its what many people do and although you may buy ' Samsung" LED and avoid "NPLED".. they could in fact be exactly the same product.

There are reports that various led providers in the US have colour fade issues.

VERY common!!!  The phosphors used in LED have a habit of fading ( they use different phosphors to flouro or neon and so have a different wavelength).. they came up with a solution and that is to stabilise with Arsenic... it makes the phosphors more stable.

...What??? Did you think there was a free lunch???  *.* *.*
