Here are a few ideas, GAP did a pro in a Deep Candy Purple - looks nice

and spied these other images, pretty sure it is photoshopped but the idea is cool if someone wants to run with it, and gives you a rough idea of Chrome on the standard cab without the Metallica logo near the button guards. The double Metallica is probably a bit over down but a cool concept for a machine.

For anybody getting a Premium or LE Metallica who is thinking of the scoop hole protector ...

It might pay to wait until the machines are actually released as the protector screws to the underside of the playfield . On the Premium / LE model there is a subway trough that feeds the ball from the coffin lock across to the scoop hole . It might be worth waiting to see where / how the trough mounts in that area first in case it gets in the road of the protector screws etc .

here is another product soon to be available for those that want it, button guards - a  bit big and not a mod I would go for but some people might like them - personal taste thing

"(THIS IS THE PROTOTYPE) Just doing some test fits, they fit with no issues. These will go to powder coat in the morning, finished in black same as Stern powder $52 shipped in the USA. Plain stainless $40 so you can trick them yourself. If you want them shipped to your choice of powder coater this isn't a problem. Send payment to pinprotection@gmail.com please add a note Metallica flipper button. Thanks MP"

here are a few mods for those interested from a guy in the states

"Hey Everyone,

I am starting to install some Prototype mods for all Metallica machine. I have added these mods and here are the prices, plus shipping   .

Drop the Hammer mod (LE/Prem).... Plug-in for installation. LED flashers inside the ball lock hammer itself, before a coffin multi-ball this lets you know when to strike the anvil and during game play. $35.00

Mystery hole scoop flasher (All Machines).... Plug-in for installation. LED flashers in the mystery hole that ties into the coffin, there are no flashers in the machine for the mystery scoop and this mod will add a cool effect during a coffin multi-ball. $20.00

Snake Flasher (All Machines).... Plug-in for installation. LED flashers directly behind the snake, this complements the snake mod that shine the game light under the snake (All colors are available) $15.00

Apron lens mod (LE/Prem).... Solder-in for installation. LED flashers for the lens an SDTM areas. I install purple LEDs in my machine, otherwise the colors on the playfield get washed out, the purple accents them. $40.00

Current Complete kit package deal will be $95.00 plus shipping.

These will be available soon, if you are interested in them please post on this thread.

Thanks,

Steve

Here is a crude YouTube video of these mods in my machine."

Did you want it to flash or change colour or just select a colour and it stays permanently on. For the last option you could just get something from jaycar and tap in to a power source in the cabinet and you done really cheaply.

here is a sticker mod for the Pro over the coffin by a pinsider, though a little pricy at $20:

This comes in three different colors for the fill area. Dark Red, Black , And Dark Green.
Its easy to apply. Just peel and place on the coffin insert in the Met Pro.
The lock lights show through perfectly and now you know how many Balls you have locked by how many red eyes are glowing.
Printed on sturdy clear vinyl and cut to the perfect shape of the coffin.
I made it easy to order by putting it up on my business site.

How do I get a hold of those flippers? they do look the part.

Yeah swinks the sticker is a cool mod. I have a small video of mine on AA metallica thread. it is a red sticker with coin taler ultra brights underneath. I was not sure how it would look as I don't mind the coffin as is but it does finish off the playfield and looks as tho it should be there.

someone should do a bandaged mummy sticker with a crazy dirty donny style face for the coffin sticker, reckon that would look good and suit the coffin.

Here's my ACDC backbox lightning now with my vast amount of PF led lighting it makes it hard to see the BB lighting lol but it's more softer than Metallica with blue lighting under acdc and some flashers top left and right behind the spot lights on the BG it's better in person.

Just added a "Metallica Master of Puppets Gravestone"
http://www.shapeways.com/model/1537633/metallica-pinball-master-of-puppets-gravestone.html?li=search-results&materialId=6

which you could try mounting near the drops on top of the plastics or at the back near the top in lanes or be creative to place them elsewhere

you can purchase directly from Shapeways USA.
flat white - $9.95
gloss white - $10.95

or I can print for $10.75 though will be slightly pitted white, not glossy.

It measures 40mm wide x 52mm high x 12mm deep and is hollow at the back to reduce the weight and manufacturing cost but you could also try to add lighting in there as well.

It has been print tested and has come up well, waiting for the camera to charge to take a photo.

I have refined the Metallica Cross to have that gentle curve from the crosses tips to the main post very typical of the Military Gravestones found in the US and Europe.

It is
$10 for one
$20 for two
$27 for three

Postage is
$8 within Aus up to 400g worth of product.

and you can always take advantage and team up with mates and get a few things or look at a AC/DC Bell Block etc and get a saving in postage etc.

Sorry again photos in the Creature but lacking access to a machine close by.

The photos don't really do the effect justice as it looks way better in person.
The whole area around the apron and slings is a lot brighter.
Highly recommended mod.
