I had to start a thread here for a a Sega machine and since I am in the minority for owning this game more the reason. Yes it's not everyones theme but has the beach in it and it isn't a bad playing game, some fun shots and some cool ramps, overall a fun game.
Firstly here are some downloadable apron cards for this machine - 4 different sets.

I will be installing a few tasteful mods, and will add to this thread in time but will first have to do a shop to my game including rebuilding all the targets as they have washing up sponge in them - not a mod that I want.

i downloaded about 60 jpeg's this morning.
This i have done before,i go to the local chemist and use there kodak photo kiosk printer machine.
The cards are printed on this gloss paper for about 19 cents each.Just cut them to size and fit.laughing. $#$

yes, thats the best way to do it, have done many like this
and should add for others there are many other cards to down load here

So for those that don't know! there is a dmd power upgrade due to the large dmd having power issues on 4 Sega's that came out with this size screen. I got my machine working after a dmd power loss due to less than 5 volt supply issues, got a replacement upgrade lead from Pinball life which was a bit faulty when delivered, though really if you have the tools you could make your own.
Since I had to send my power supply board to Beaky, I sent the cable and he made some changes and improvements so working sweet now.
Attachment is of the Sega bulletin for power supply upgrade - not really a mod to "look at" but a mod to improve the performance if you machine resets or screen blanks out.

First very basic mods are:
- Stern Flipper Button guards
- leg / cabinet protectors
1. Stern flipper button guards - my machine had wide black electrical tape hiding cabinet wear so wanted to improve that with Stern Flipper Button Guards from AMD Amusements in Sydney for $22 a set which includes the screws (you will have to contact them as they do not list on their website). I am happy with the upgrade - hides the wear and makes the machine look a little more modern.

2. Leg / Cabinet Protectors - red ones added to hide some of the wear to the cabinet from the machine being moved around and blends in with the red swim wear &&. I purchased these from RTBB for $20 so good value as well.

I will be doing a few other things as well and will update hear:
Shop out
- general shop out, clean and polish
- correct the flipper coils and install diodes back into all of them as well as new flipper kits and a new upper flipper bats
- remove the washing up sponge as from research was a common thing in this machine !@#
- install white rubber kit
- all new plastics kit
- correct the backbox hinge bolt on one side
Mods
- be adding a shark figure
- be adding a US Coast Guard Helicopter possibly with led/s
- possibly mirror blades if Stern ones fit in - which sure will help others with Sega machines

Not a huge fan of the button guards , but can see why you needed them .

just completed a full shop with 4 x new flipper kits (including proper flipper solenoids with diodes), new full rubber kit, and full new plastics set, new target sponges all round and now she looks beautiful and plays fast with all the skill shots timed nicely.
as for the mods, I have done the following:
- changed 2 of the flasher domes fastened to the wireforms from red to yellow to go with the surf life saving colours
- one US Coast Guard helicopter in the back right corner
- one lemon shark over the shark hole
- some red post rubbers
- and trying 2 of those clear (opague) flipper rubbers on the shark flipper and the life guard buoy flipper
- and some leds that fasten through under plastics - mainly because Sega fastened the globe holders with staples and solder from underneath and changing the globes and plastics is a pain in the ar#e.
- just have a set of mirror blades to finish it off in the next few days

the sponge is Target Foam and got it from Greg (member here) who runs RTTB in Melbourne, though checked and doesn't seem to be in stock at the moment though sure it will be back

I took an above view shot to show you how I mounted the shark, I basically cut some plastic down and picked up on the lamp screw and then used 2 small screws into the underbelly on the shark and cut the plastic a few millimetres short of the shark body so it looks clean.

Last mod was some new shiny mirror blades, which makes this game pop and look all new and shiny. I used Stern mirror blades and they fitted perfectly so you are not restricted to Sega / or Data East designed ones.

here is an above view of a full game (playfield and dmd) and was able to fluke getting all three skill shots, the game is nicely tuned in and plays well. since I was in the garage I fastened 2 clamps to the ceiling beams, then cable tied a tripod to the clamps and then setup a point and shoot camera with HD video and took about 10 attempts at a decent game to post - the video turned out not bad.

I have quite a few pins but must say Baywatch keeps me more amused than any other and after over a year I still have not achieved the full set of tasks!
Where did you get the shark from? It is the perfect size.
Your helicopter looks much more impressive than mine. I installed the Hot Wheels Baywatch set.

ended up selling for $2200
the shark was this one from last years release Schleich #16096 so a bit hard to find - check out your local toy shop or hobby shop and save on the postage as they have a different blue shark for this year Schleich #14701 that still looks good but doesn't quite match the play field artwork.

I needed the money due to job loss, but all new plastics and a 25hr shop out (yes I wasn't the fastest) so the guy got a good deal.
I think mainly the Hoff, but it is a good game and plays well

a guy in the UK installed a lcd in his Baywatch and went with game specific colours - probably needs some tweaking

Looks very nice. Quite an expensive mod totaling about $250-300 for the full set up. Probably better to invest that in a mashine which tends to apprecite more over time than Babewatch.

agree, but a good option if your screen blows as including freight the dmd is getting up to $400-$500

That is very funny! I am embarrased to say I am considering buying it. I was alreay trying to buy the original size Baywatch float as a topper (with a light inside).

If I still had mine I would get the small one and it is hollow as well so you can always put a globe inside of it like in the video below

Well I managed to get hold of one of those Barbie Baywatch Floats and installed it with a led inside. Unlike the other picture I turned it around to face the front:

Finally finished my Shark mod and included blue LED eyes!

The rubbery material these sharks are made off is really hard to work with. Nearly impossible to drill and difficult to melt holes and canals for the LED eyes. I managed at the end but it was a struggle.

I finally found one at a reasonable price. Still shipping was more than the float. I will turn it into my topper with internal lighting. It's am original Baywatch float!

Here we go I finished it. Added 6V white led strip inside the float and painted the lettering yellow. Stip is hooked up to Back board GI lamp. I also added a blue 12V strip that I hooked up to the flasher circuit.
