Title: Pro Pinball - Kickstarter launched - Timeshock
Post by: swinks on July 20, 2013, 05:39:23 PM
here is the next stage of pinball mame and the graphics look beautiful with Pat Lawler and John Youssi at the helm it should have great physics and play.

they are just launching a 2nd attempt on kickstarter to get it off the ground very soon and you can download a lighting simulation program for free for ipad, mac and I think pc version -  just need to convince these guys to cater for a lcd, led mame so you can then make a game cabinet with these games in. Make sure to check out the facebook link as the development is impressive.

rumour is on VP forum that they will be doing a portrait view for mame cabinets - this would be great, with four tables remastered and a rumoured Pat Lawler 5th table.

noticed they were allowing the Pinball Arcade Terminator 2 Kickstarter to finish so should see something soon as they didn't want it to overlap - Terminator 2 has 37 hours to go.

I wrote to the guys with my focus being towards making a mame cabinet dedicated using this product and the answer is yes it will be mame suitable - so looking forward to this, and they will be designing around a second dmd screen  ^^^

this is what he had to say.

"Hi Jady,

Thanks for getting in touch.

I'm pleased to say we will be supporting cabinets and second screens for DMD display. Resolution wise, we will initially be supporting resolutions as high as 2880x1800, ultimately we will also support 4K displays too!

The Kickstarter video will show the game running in portrait mode (though not the cabinet specific view we will be creating).

Thanks for your support it is much appreciated.

Cheers,

Ade."

well it is up and looks incredible, like looking at a real playfield.

they will be supporting real cabinets and twin screens with a cabinet view designed in as well.

Update from the guys

Thanks to www.pinDMD.com we now have Timeshock! running on a real DMD! It really is cool to see something that has always been virtual becoming at least a little bit real! We had been wondering whether or not our pinball cabinet should use a real DMD or an LCD screen - I think we now know the answer.

Please keep spreading word, we're very nearly two thirds funded!

Many thanks,

Ade.

from an update

Yesterday was a great day for pledges! Thanks to all our new backers - we are now over two thirds of the way towards our goal with about three quarters of the time remaining!
We've had a few requests from backers asking to see something new running on a phone or tablet, so here's the attract mode sequence running on the iPad with the ambient light and general illumination turned off.
Thanks for all your support, please keep spreading the word and we can hopefully hit our goal with time to spare!

I suggested to Heighway Pinball to make it as one of his up and coming pins, layout and art, and sounds already done - it would be interesting to see how the design would work in real life. Added bonus is Ade from Pro Pinball would like to have it made one day and even better both of them are in the UK....

you can see similar art styles to say AFM with the way the design is around the inserts

an update with some add ons

As requested, we have put together some Add-Ons that you can add to existing pledges. You can now add many of the existing items to a pledge, such as the Digital Soundtrack or Key Ring, but we've also come up with seven brand new items that we hope you will like:

Timeshock! ULTRA Edition Playfield Digital Poster and Wallpapers Pack
Special Gold Virtual Pinball
Timeshock! ULTRA Edition Online World Championship Entry
Pro Pinball Art Package for Pinball Cabinets
Fully Custom Virtual Pinball
Limited Edition Signed Timeshock! ULTRA Edition Soundtrack CD
White Timeshock! ULTRA Edition T-Shirt
We've added these new items for FREE to some existing tiers (and subsequent tiers), so you might find that you're now getting more for your existing pledge than you were before!

You'll find the full details on the main project page about halfway down. I hope you find something you like as it would only take an extra £5 from each of you for us to hit our goal!

Many thanks, and please keep spreading the word.

Ade.

Downloaded this yesterday, absolutely amazing, looks like a real machine! The flashers and light show are incredible. Definitely worth checking out. The Pinball Arcade could get some tips from these guys, going back felt like 8-bit compared to the stunning visuals of Pro Pinball  *)*

got out my dedicated 32" HD screen for a cocktail pinball table project running with a mac mini and ipac interface board and arcade buttons.

it looks nice, simply use a rotate screen app and ring menu app hooked up to fast keys and then arcade buttons - to toggle between zen pinball, pinball arcade and pro pinball. All three programs adjust to cut out the side views and just show the playfield with only timeshock showing a dedicated large dmd. Pro Pinball are still yet to update their software to offer cabinet support but at least it can be done on one screen in portrait view. There is some delay in the flippers and a little bit of image pause and catch up on fast moving balls. The ball launch is super fast almost a little unrealistic but overall looks sharp.

Unfortunately can't add a pic but glad it is finally here, just need the cabinet art for my project now.... hint hint.
