Title: Pinball Memory Ram Chip - No more worrying about battery juice on your boards
Post by: swinks on January 11, 2014, 08:22:11 PM
I came across this the other day, yes probably been around for a while but saves that risk of battery juice over your boards. Probably a little expensive for the pins you are not sure about but any machines which are keepers, this would be worth while.

I haven't put them up on the site as the original RAM is soldered to the board and the tracks are VERY delicate and easily broken unless great care is taken.

I'm a little unsure exactly how to go about offering them - I had thought I might sell them with a new replacement WMS MPU but I'm open to suggestions.

I've used a similar product in a Bally Truckstop, no soldering required as was socketed.  I am sure Mikes products are as good if not better.

I second above what Mike said re original ram on WPC games.  The tracks are VERY delicate and I would suggest unless you have a very good desoldering station or are very skilled to pay a professional to fit.
