Title: I think I broked it
Post by: Peach on July 26, 2014, 04:33:50 PM
Hey Guys..As some of you know I have a 64 Rowe Ami Jukebox that seems to be a never ending project...anyway I did get it working sort of, actually sounded real good too for a while..I bought it with no key so drilled the lock out, as you do  ^.^   and over the years got sick of getting the screwdriver to open it so in one of my blonde moments I removed the lock bars thinking it wouldn't lock again...I was wrong   ^.^
Now I can't open it at all..I don't know what has locked because I have removed both the lock and bars..any suggestions how to open it ...

Nah... ive done this myself and managed to get into it. I disabled the top lock bar then closed the front and of course couldn't get back into it. How did I get in there???... im trying to remember but I managed to gain access to the spring load catches for the front and pull them away one by one.. once the front is down you can get to the ones for the top. How exactly, I cannot remember!

Here are the locking mechs one on each side it looks like you might be able to get something thin in and force back the catches

Maybe Try GABA idea that front panel has two metal tabs that slide into slots maybe if you can kid the front high enough to get those out???

Hard to get a decent photo but on mine there is a small gap in the corner.  Looks like you could fit a piece of wire in there and release the latch
