Just picked up this few weeks ago. 1970 Sega Jet Rocket, I have got the game going again and a general clean up . A few picks of the game , First shots are of the internal moving landscape . 2nd shot are of the contact wipers that wipe against metal mesh (Sewn onto the underside of the landscape) and control the "Hits". The whole thing is lit up using Blacklights . Machine has electronics sounds IE Rockets, Jet Engines and Explosion sounds.

Amazing find.
I remember these growing up. There was a similar design with a "Dune Buggy" game with a changing landscape. I will watch with interest !

These shots show the rockets firing , It fires from the left then next shots are fired from the right and so on till the time runs out. And a few shots of the games Blacklights all lit up.

A few more pics Before and After. Backglass is flackey so will be sealed and art redone. Hence no flouro going atm , as it is a distraction and shines in your eyes.. Games should have 455 flashers in the front lights just for show . Atm they are 44's but will be changed back to the original 455 flashers...

The Sound board needed new caps installed as you could only just hear it , even at full volume, Jaycar had most of the caps that were needed. Installed all new caps into both boards ( Bar two in one board , but i have the correct ones to go in now) , A amp board and the sound board itself, Plugged it in and nearly blew my eardrums, Volume was still un maximum,
Adjusted the volume and tweaked the small trimpots to adjust the explosion and jet sounds etc . What a huge difference all sounds can be heard now.. A few pics and one showing the sound board details for certain sound adjustments...

Ps. Nino mentioned a buggy game similar - it's not Moon Patrol is it (I think Moon Patrol was more a video game & maybe Nino's talking about a beach buggy)?

Small update regarding the backglass restoration .
I only took one rather crappy picture of the backglass at it was ,
First i sealed the glass , I drew outline lines on the front of the glass as a guide , Mainly for the straight white lines etc that are around "Rocket" Then after hours of work hand painting it's looking a whole lot better compared to the flakey thing that it was before .
I still need to "Blackout" the areas that i have repainted then re' seal the whole thing .
The Orange "Jet Rocket" letters will then be gone over using a friends air brush...

The one I remember was more like a pinball with the revolving surface as the playfield area. It was a very large machine. Having said that, everything was big for me in 1975 ish.

This picture shows the Height, at 6ft tall , Like the size of a small photo both . And i reckon she weighs around 100kg at least
When the Landscape assembly is removed you can get inside to work on it , which i did when fixing the Fluro sockets etc .
The game plays great except for a intermittent switch "Explosion sound " issue.. But Explosion sound does work when a "Hit" is made
It's only me that knows! , most people wouldn't notice at all.. Maybe DD's would &&
Fantastic old machines these EM arcade game are,everyone enjoys them that play em ..

Game paperwork , Showing adjustments and installation procecdures etc.
Last picture shows 'Wipers' under the Mirror .
These align with the landscape Wipers and the sewn on metal patches under the landscape and coils to register a 'Hit' .
Personally i just use the Force and Stay on target!

Its cleaned up well the whole game , just needs a few more finishing touches.

Resurrecting an old thread... from Texas no less!
I recently acquired a Jet Rocket and am current restoring it. I am missing the targeting light box but made one of my one. Mine is almost 100% now but I am having trouble with the target on the far left.
Do you have the schematics and if so, could you take a photo of the target hit section of that schematic?
Also, mine was missing the speaker. What ohm rating is yours?
Your game looks great. I've videoing my project work and will be posting it to YouTube once I'm done. These games are getting more and more rare and there isn't a lot out there about them. I found your post here through Google searches and I truly appreciate all the work you've done posting your progress.
