It has been decided to start a new thread for members that wish to donate towards a tribute that the Australian Pinball Community as a whole will present to the Berry family members.
We are thinking of a unique display cabinet with a part mounted from his favorite games with a plaque. The writing on the plaque can be from a "Tribute" thread (or an existing thread) on respective forums. We are looking at making six cabinets with comments that we can select from the "Tribute" threads. These are presented to the family from the Australian Pinball Community.
Suggestions on designs are welcome. Nothing has been decided - but the idea is one the family like.
You can click the "Donations" on the Main Menu Bar.
Please either add a post to this thread (or PM / email me if you with to remain anon). I just need to keep track of the donations

Can stay open as long as needed. We are still a way off designing the plaques / gifts. as long as I'm notified that the donation is for Greg, we make sure it does not get mixed up with site donations.

Yes there is progress. We have spoken to the family with various ideas and we have come up with something that the family and friends are all VERY happy with. There will be an announcement in late May (once all the details are sorted).
The only thing I can say right now is that it will be "perpetual".

Just a quick update - we are moving towards having an event that bears Greg's name. An annual event that will be part of an existing comp. Most likely in Melbourne at this stage. The donations will be used to fund the trophies in the event, at this comp (the donations will cover at least 5 years worth of events). We are working with the family and we have spoken with a reputable organizer to start this process. There's still some work to do, but we all agree that the event will be annual.
I just thought I'd chime in and let everyone know that this is happening. The family are thrilled with the idea, and so are we ! we just need to ensure we get everything "right" for the first event.

There were a number of options - and some amazing ideas from pinheads. We credit MartyJ with the initial idea, and we ran with that to the family and they were overwhelmed with the idea. We wanted an annual remembrance that involved family and friends - with pinball - but we widened it to make the focus Greg's memory. There's a couple of hoops to go through - but there is no better way to remember our friend.
