Title: System 1 connectors
Post by: Crashramp on January 29, 2017, 07:51:25 PM
Hi guys, where do I find Connectors used on Gottlieb system 1 machines? I've just started some pre restoration clean up work on my Count-down machine and I'd like to replace the display and board connectors but I'm not sure where I can buy them. Thanks in advance.

I usually keep the connectors and replace the pins. Rtbb has some.

For the driver to cpu interconnect you must get one of these as saves heaps of work, look for sys 1/ sys80 harnesses on left pane

Thanks Nick,

I didn't realise that these were the .156 pins. I have plenty of them but I'd still like to buy new connectors if they're available somewhere. I also have a new Pascal 4 in 1 board to install down the track. It's packed away in a cupboard at the moment so I haven't had much of a look at it yet. Will I still need the interconnecting board to board harnesses with the 4 in 1?

No mate, the four in one won't need that.

Just realised the pins on RTBB are the modern ones, you actually need the .156" "card edge" pins.

If you are going to replace the connectors, do yourself a great favour at the same time and put some diodes on the return paths for all the coils. They will block any backwash from a locked on coil etc and protect those precious and obsolete spider chips

Thanks Gav, I have a 4 in 1 board to go in so that should take care of that. The machine as I brought it was not in any condition to fire up so at the moment I don't know if there are issues with the existing driver board. I just thought the 4 in 1 would be easier in the long run.
