Aussie Pinball has had it's long overdue facelift ! We are now on the latest Forum Software, with some new features.

Special thanks to Caleb "Belac" for researching, testing and updating the site.  ^^^ ^^^ ^^^

A big thanks to Caleb for his expert help!

And also a big thanks to the couple of members who helped with the beta testing, much appreciated!

If you want to change your display from EM to DMD etc, you can do it in your profile settings mod page here -

Cheers guys.

I edited your link Nick as it was pointing to YOUR profile.

The Like mod is installed, and the @mention mod. If within a post you type an @ directly followed by a username you will be presented with a list of matching usernames. That user will get a notification that you have 'mentioned' them.

You should get alerts for both mentions and likes received.

I have tested Tapatalk and it appears to be working, but i rarely use it so may have missed something.

changing the display to Williams alpha numeric does not work

Fixed. You'll need to re-select it again as I had not entered it correctly. (Should have been "Alpha Numeric (Williams/Bally)" as that's what the software was checking for)

Thanks.

I like the GREG Berry tribute too.

Approaching the 2 year anniversary of his passing. I'm glad you like it. We had the banner for almost 2 years, and we needed to revert back to the standard banner. The tribute at the bottom is permanent. From memory, it was one of Caleb's many fantastic ideas for the site upgrade !

Im losing unread posts.. deliberately not opening up posts only to find they are gone when I go back to "unreads"... I did have some 396 or so pages of these before the upgrade which have all gone... but im losing those I haven't read now..

Things are a bit different with the new version of SMF. The 'Show unread posts since your last visit' does exactly that now, it doesn't show all unread posts. There is a 'info bar' on that page that says 'click here to show ALL unread posts' which will show you the ones you're missing. I'll see if we can default it to that because I thought the same as you...

I got it while off line (so got the email alert) as well as all the reports of it by members. I deleted the account.

This could be completely unrelated but since the new version it seems to have trouble remembering me (cookies) anyone else have that issue? I am on IE11

Also you tube videos are just a black placeholder......? Again may not be the new version.

Im looking but cannot see it..

If there are topics in the list when you click 'Show unread posts since your last visit', there will be a blue button that reads 'show all unread topics'.

If there are no topics in the list when you click 'show unread posts since your last visit', there will be a message stating 'No unread topics found since your last visit. Click here to try all unread topics.'

At least that's what I can see. I haven't had a chance to investigate further sorry.

@Belac
I used to be a forum moderator many years ago. We were constantly attacked by spambots.
I found that by adding an extra mandatory field to the registration process (eg what is your favorite pinball machine?) we cut the amount of spambots by a significant amount
The spambots know that registration is seven (or whatever) fields
Giving them an extra field means they do not finish registering and thus cannot post

Keep flippin’
Pete

Thanks Pete, haven't had a chance to look into the spam yet but will certainly discuss and look at implementing something similar or a capcha of some sort. I do like your idea better than a capcha though (e.g. enter the letters/numbers you see in this image)

Cheers

@Belac is there anyway you can have it that after posting it goes back to the thread instead of to the category?

I've just enabled this setting. See how you go.

Also i have removed all traces of CharlesFed from the database so no-one else will receive the Spam PM that was sent. Strange ways has also enabled some extra security settings when signing up for new accounts.

I've been having the same issue so i've just renamed the cookie, which will force it to use a new one to be created (instead of the one that may still exist from the old forum software). It will probably require to login again next time you visit.

YouTube videos are showing ok for me on Safari and Firefox (at least the one in your Meet thread), i'll check it out on IE11 when i'm on a different PC. Anyone else having this issue?

I've looked into this and apparently Tapatalk does not support this 'Like' system yet, but there are many requests for it on the Tapatalk support forum and they advise they're working on it...

Hi Belac, Is it possible to have the "show all unread topics" button on the home page?  At the moment to get all of your unread posts up you have to hit the "show unread posts since last visit" first and then the "Click here" button.

I have modified the template so that "Show all unread posts since last visit" actually shows all unread posts, to mimic the old software.

This should also make @Retropin (http://aussiepinball.com/index.php?action=profile;u=14) happy!

Cheers

Not sure if its a known bug/issue, but ever since the update, any time I come to the site it tells me I have "new messages".  Menu even shows that I have "1 Unread Message", but when I click to read it, it says I have none (e.g there are _no_ messages in my Inbox)

Thanks, no it wasn't a known issue but the unread PM count was out of sync. Should be all fixed now.

Spot on. I removed all traces of the SPAM account but that left the unread message count of of balance...
