Guess the day had to come when CI was done - I expect that day might have been a few months down the track except that Expo has seen Nug burning the midnight oil..
See some pics below..
-
Great work Guys looking forward to the pics and even a few games
-
Looking forward to seeing this as well. Think it will pull a crowd like Holden's EFIJY concept car at a car show
-
A couple of shots of the 99.9% completed game. A couple of minor things to finish off which Nug was attending to after I left last night.

Congratulations to the "Non Pinball Factory" - Finally the jigsaw comes together, and it looks better than I thought. The sideart elevates the project into a level that would easily be "at home" with the last of the Bally/Williams line up.
You guys have set the bar very high for anyone wishing to follow in your footsteps. Now get some sleep and we look forward to the premier of the machine at Expo !
Well done guys - a major achievement in the History of Pinball in Australia. I look forward to playing it soon !

LOL!! I think the other "pinball manufacturers" in melbourne are just too tied up delivering fake legal notices.
Congratulations guys - looking forward to seeing CI in the flesh
-
Grats on completing it! Spacies did an A1 job on the decal art as well.
-
Great work Guys that looks bloody awsome get some well earned rest and enjoy the Expo.

one can only dream.

Wow, one would never imagine some decals to make such a difference to a game, hell guys, this is now, well and truely a PINBALL MACHINE! It's really hard for anyone to contemplate the enormity (& completion) of this project, so congratulations & have a great time in Sydney!

This game was amazing 'in the flesh' so to speak. The game was played ALL DAY and never missed a beat.
One of the highlights of the day for sure, really was a standout for the Aussie Pinball stall #*#
-
I enjoyed a game, and was impressed. The game flows nice, just a shame we couldnt hear it (that hall was so noisy). I am the awesome player that managed to get a ball under the ramp, and you had to tilt the PF forward to get it out.

Just reiterating what other members have posted, this game was awesome, was played basically all day and did not miss a beat. A real credit to Christian and Nick. Looking forward to seeing the next instalment.
-
Well done to all involved in the CI venture . Just goes to show what can be achieved . Certainly got plenty of heads turning .
-
Wooohoooo!
Looks real nice! Glad to hear it is getting good reviews and that it had no downtime at the expo. Just goes to show it has been really thought out properly.
Congrats guys and I look forward to seeing it in the flesh myself someday soon.

Wow. That is all there is to say. Took you so long but turned out so well. Did you ever finish up the software end?

The game software used for Expo was a simplified version, omitting multiball and some of the modes (and also a ball save which would have been handdy for some of the less skilled players - whoops) to ensure reliability. The basic operating system is done, and game rules are just a matter of writing what is wanted (most of which is done already). Nug has a much more complete version with a few bugs to sort, but there's half a dozen modes and a wizard mode (see here - http://www.users.on.net/~spaners/Coconut%20Island/rules.html ).
DMD style display will be added in due course too. Game No. 2 (I'm going to call it NPC 002 from now on) will be DMD style from the outset, with perhaps even a colour display rather than mimicking DMD style.

Awesome accomplishment. I'm sad that the big-boobed polynesian isnt on the backglass anymore :(

Great to hear. i never played the game (I'm not eve non the right continent ;) ) but this project has been so wonderfully written and such. Great work.

That looks awesome, I'm amazed at some of the things I've found on here.
-
At LONG LAST - I had the priveledge of playing Coconut Island. I'd say I had around 20 games and I left Nug's place wanting to play it again ! It plays like no other machine - there's nothing in the design that's "borrowed" from another game. Some of the shots were so fluid and fast - makes the game unpredictable, unforgiving and challenging. There's no way I could understand the rules, because I was having so much fun.
The sounds and "characters" on the game are a laugh as well.
An AWESOME ahievement by Nick and Nug ^^^ ^^^ ^^^
-
It was pretty quick, and the shots had to be accurate or else the ball disappeared down the guts or side lanes.
Now that I have played Getaway a lot, I think I could take on CI and actually get a score these days!
