Title: Stern - Star Wars
Post by: swinks on June 01, 2017, 07:34:53 AM
based on the original first 3 movies, designed by Steve Ritchie

The premium would be the one to go for, for the bottom loop ramp  that feeds to a exploding death star that splits in half etc but they are just feeling so stripped out.

There's nothing on the Pro and it looks VERY basic...and once again, the Stern staple recipe, ball feed to pop bumpers top RHS with controlled release ( im assuming bumpers behind the STAR WARS screen(?))

I like the Flintstones style reverse metal ramp orbit above the flippers. Will be a fantastic seller for Stern. Code will be ready in 2020.

Not really a fan of the art, although it's hard to tell properly with low picture quality. Good to see the art is from the original trilogy.

The Pro looks very sparse?

Also why are the inserts so damn big? All I can see jumping out at me is giant triangles when I look at it.

The less features the cheaper the cost and more profit per unit sold.

To make it look busy when there is little else..

This was a plot by John Trudeau to kickoff another waive of sales for his Ghostbusters!   Jack would be happy.

Is it wishful thinking that the price of these machines will be less than recent Stern releases?  I would find the Pro reasonable, if it had a suitably lower price than recent Pros.

The Pro looks like Avatar, with the inlaces and pops mover over a bit to the left.  With the same colour scheme, at a quick glance they look like the same machine.

On the positives:
I do like the Premium/LE warp loop (the wire form above the flippers).  I thought I heard a while ago that the loop would have a ball propelled around it similar to Getaway and Stern's Grand Prix / Nascar.

Clearly there is no attempt to cut costs on this machine...

If they really wanted to cut costs, they could have removed the pop numbers that are hidden from view behind the LCD screen, ramp and the winged fighter! @.@

Has to win the vote for the most useless pinball feature of all time!  May as well have just let the ball trickle out and played some pop bumper sounds on the speakers - you would know the difference!

check out where the LE/Prem lift up ramp is on the Pro. A lot like how stern left artwork off the left hand side GB because the 'stream' device was canned. They just left these 2 big holes in the pathway. Pro is not for me, maybe Premium after a year or so if it turns out a nice game
