Looking good Nick, but don't forget the ball save *)*
-
I'll make a note of that Tony!
There's a mini-playfield in the below the main playfield style of Black Hole - but notice - no flippers! Yet you will be able to control the ball to complete the ******* ******* mode.
-
or this version with change pop bumper locations and an additional shot through...
-
You tease Nick...Good luck with it. I'm sure it will emulate the success of CI.

:lol
allthough, ready for next expo will be fine

What is the theme of it? Or is that unknown? Can't believe your already jumping in for number 2.

Oh, it's known alright. Just secret. We'll develop the white wood in public like CI, but no artwork or music etc (other than "fill the spot" sounds) will be shown during development - we want to launch the game with the theme a surprise!
-
Can't believe you guys are straight into the next one!
-
yeah i want to parallel develop the DMD stuff so might as well get the second title up and running %$%
of course theres a bit of tweaking on ci to go and also some more software for effects etc, the rules were roughed in for expo and im going to make it a bit easier to start the modes... yes a ball saver too !
-
.
-
not letting the grass grow under your feet eh boys
Straight into the next.
I like others will keep tuned for all the updates.

Great stuff ^^^
How long are you giving yourselves to complete this title?
-
I offer my services as official tester when its finished... $#$
Good luck with it Guys, I will be looking out in anticipation for the updates ^^^

Guys, can you offer any specific detail on what kind of I/O hardware you are using to interface the playfield electro mechanics with the PC?
Also what software is being used to build the actual game play rule set?
With the deterioration of old pin spares I wonder how hard it would be to replace buggered old controller boards with a PC running the show via D/A interfaces using something like Visual Pinball emu?

The driver board we are using was actually produced for that exact purpose - to interface between a PC running pinmame with a game for which there's no CPU. The project just seemed to disappear (maybe due to things like Parcal's wonderful CPU replacements making this sort of thing of little value?). We grabbed the last two boards, although Nug has speced a redesigned one anyway as it has some built-in issues and much of the componentry can be replaced with other less numerous components.
The OS is Windows XP - there's some stuff native to XP that assist with how Nug pulled this off, although he is looking at other options at the moment. The games rules are written in VB.

Nice work guys.
If you are willing, I would like to offer my services again for the artwork.

Love the outhole straight onto the mini flipper, straight around the loop and crashing into a pop bumper !
I like it already
-
We're getting back into this one - the big rush to finish Coconut Island for the Sydney auction weekend was a bit of a bummer and it's hard to believe it's been a year since CI was actually finished and Nug and I did the big road trip to display it in Sydney.
Huge thanks to Greg ( www.rtbb.com.au ) who donated some assemblies to kick this project along, I'm getting excited again at the thought of this one!!
-
Cool! Look forward to some updates :D
