Title: newbie with a 1981 williams
Post by: Brett.Nicole on September 13, 2018, 04:12:52 PM

Hey Guys and Girls, we've just bought an untested but looks complete 1981 Williams Jungle Lord.
Its very dirty, the playfield looks ok, but is faded and the mylar is lifting. Found all the plastic pieces inside the cabinet they look ok some small damage, but nothing major. Managed to find some kind of manual for it, but seems incomplete. !@# But I could be looking in the wrong area. Any advice is appreciated greatly.

Go grab the manual and print it out - it will come in handy !

Some repair guides - Yours would be the first (System 3-7)

One of the most important initial checks is to check if the game is set for 240V - Do you know the history of the game ? Was is a locally operated game or an import ? Then check the fuses - every single one of them. If they are the incorrect value - change them. If they are the correct value, check them with a multimeter.
That should keep you busy  ^^^

Thanks for the links. All we really know is its a 1981 williams jungle lord. And it was an import. Possibly Yugoslavia, if the coin inside is an indication, but the coin door has German on it. Bought the pinball from a guy in victoria, as a untested but looks to be complete. A friend of ours has bought a couple from him as well. We know it is going to be a long process. Only had it about 2 weeks. But we so far have noticed not alot of bits for it. Plastics, back glass, decals etc. But will keep looking. Not sure if its 240 yet, but fuses will be checked, its a bit grubby. So getting a once over anyway.
