Title: my toy
Post by: markc on September 05, 2008, 09:06:52 PM

as most you know me   I see the smiles on faces  all the time and people getting a new toy  or their first or tenth pinball
well I want a toy

so  you see I just brought a 1971 HG  windowless factory V8 253  pvan   I have just gotten a RWC  done and will be driving it  as of next week  HOPEFULLY

i have already arranged for a full re spray and just brought  some mags

it will be fully decked out  to the HILT    well hopefully
should  have it done  in 3 - 6  months   but will be fun

this is a much better one than the other one I brought and this one is at driveable and has rego till april next year

Yep, she's a nice old girl. She'll come up a treat.

I owned a HT Premier with Tri-matic once. Still kicking myself today for selling it.

There you go Mark... You can RESTORE something  :)

I'll show you pix of the 1961 VW Karmann Ghia I restored with my Father last year... Wait - I'll drive it to your factory one day and we can exchange notes.

There is nothing as good as taking something old, and bringing it back to its former glory. Wish we could do that to our wives eh ?  :o :o

Guilty as charged. Thrown too much money and effort into Italian rust buckets over the years. Never again...Yeah I've heard that before.

I used to own a 1980 Ford Escort panelvan that i sold to make room for more pinnies!!! I spent $10'000 + doing it up from the ground up. It was beautiful.. jet black, worked 2litre engine, grey/black velour interior and it kicked but!! I even got it in to"Hot 4s & performance cars" magazine. Sadly the guy whe bought it trashed it, was heartbreaking to see it driving around with the dented front end where he lost control and ploughed it into a fence.

I'm in the same boat...

It's a 2000 jaguar XKR with a few performance enhancements ;-)  The car on the other side is my old 1982 Porsche 944 that had 45k original miles when I sold it.  I don't know which I love more driving like an idiot or playing pinball.  The pinball is definately much more safe =)

Really cool cars btw.  Nick that ride is crazy cool.

Aw man, that is **nice!**

Nick that ride is crazy cool.

Not as comfy as yours, but its performance enhancement is the removal of all unnecessary weight! 0-60 mph under 5 seconds - not bad for 60 bhp ;)

Hey Chuck,

I love the Jaguars... my Dad has restored quite a few of them over the years, mainly the Mark 2's from the very late 60's. But I must say, that the Daimlers of that time were better.

The XKR is a dream of mine to own... so if you can, then maybe I will too some day...

I had a black one  of those    MANY years ago

yes less than std boost (6.5psi) 92kw at front wheels and a 15.2 qtr (0-100 7.9) and still get 650kms to 45 litres. i did my own porting and installed VL 55 mm throttle body and a gtst standard intercooler which is huge for me, also a T28 off a tturbo 300zx

i use it to get to work so i dont screw with it too much these days...

now my old datto 1600 with a T3 and 2 inch SU was something else...13.8sec qtr use to spin that bastard round to 8500! hehe no intercooler and 14 PSI...had to escape from some ethnics one night in their daddys statesman...they were throwing tomatoes at me?   :P

Love the Dodge. Always been a Mopar man. Dad used to work at a Chrysler dealership here in Adelaide. Still remember the days when he used to come home from work with a different variety of Chrysler every day. Charger one day, Regal the next...etc.

Hmmm I thought you saw it last time you were at my place, it's normally in the garage but I think it was parked on the street that day. Oh well, you are more than welcome to take a look at it next time you are over  :)

Blak with white outlining on the repro field - same style as used on the "Jackpot" inserts. On the original it is just white. Not sure why the change, the original looked better IMO.

We need a "Hijacked Thread" emoticon  :D

It's gone from Mark's Car to Coffee to an AFM playfield !

Why is there a difference between the original and repro ?

Why is there a difference between the original and repro ?

Good question - the repro version looks crap, but it's such a small issue not worth worrying about. The plain white works better when RTU is lit, not that you get to see that insert lit all that often!

Who produced the playfield ?

I didn't even know it was made !
Title: Re: my toy
Post by: pinnies4me on September 27, 2008, 02:31:48 PM
Williams licensee, not Gene though. They were **made** by a fellow named Mirco in Germany, and I bought and brought mine in privately direct from Mirco.
