Unsure whether this is classed as a fix it or restore. I'm told that the more common problem for inserts is that they sink. I have one that has raised on the corner and is lifting the mylar etc. I have noticed a couple of others that have raised ever so slightly but are nearly unnoticeable.
My question is what can be done or is it best to leave things alone?

This is what I did with my Funhouse...
Heat up the glue holding the insert with a hair dryer. You probably want the really hot setting and do this from under the playfield, not from the top. For the next bit, I used an old ball shooter with a rubber tip attached. Quickly and lightly, get a hammer and tap the insert into the playfield using the rubber tipped end of the ball shooter until it's level. Allow the glue to dry and that's it. If that doesn't do the trick you probably need to remove the insert (by heating the glue), clean off all the old glue from the insert and playfield and re-glue it.

Works well for sunken or raised inserts...
But not the dreaded concaved inserts... ^.^

speaking of which I believe mr retropin was due to submit his report on the new bunnings 2 part clear epoxy as a potential fix for the concaves? I suspect his tardiness is due to his new arrival maybe.

New arrival???.... been some large talk behind my back
My tardiness is due to being a slack bugger and not getting to Bunnings on the weekend, but i did buy 2 beds and a bike, new footy ball. By the end of that i couldnt be arsed with Bunnings!
But! My fellow pinheads - fear not. I consider myself thoroughly rebuked and will happily trot along to Bunnings this week. Aforementioned report will be filed, stamped and submitted with humility soon

AAAAAh, yes - APOLLO.
Has the worlds largest stepdown installed - weighs a ton! Gotta be 15A of unused power there ( possible ex photocopier perhaps?).
This wasnt fixed down and so during transport has smashed into some relay banks. Machine is a non goer till these can be realigned. But its a very tidy example of this machine with some odd restore work. - whole PF has been Mylared, but over a dirty PF - has sealed in the ball swirl nicely!
Ill get the game going and tackle the Mylar later.
There is another machine waiting in the wings... but i cant say anything yet.

Thanks Creech & Strangeways, forgot all about this thread until now. Will try this maybe on the weekend or Xmas break. Would a plastic tipped hammer be a better option?
Sorry for the late reply but the fuse probalem is getting me down and taking all my attention
