Just wondering how hard it is to set up a brief summary of a topic when you hover the mouse over the title?

I've installed a mod that lets you see a summary of the first few lines in each thread. When you click on a forum, you will see a list of threads posted and the first bit of text in the first post of each thread. It can be changed to show the last post - whatever you think is useful.

Let me know if you think it's useful. If not I will uninstall it.

Thanks Creech, is there anyway of seeing a summary in the 'unread posts since last visit'  makes it easier to sort all the threads if you've been away for awhile

Dec 2008 - this is the best "bump" I have ever done on any forum.

Creech: Is there a plugin around to do this as a "tooltip" when you hover the mouse over a topic?

i.e. other forums (forum s/ware?)  give you the first few lines of the post as a pop-up balloon type thing...

I find it great for reading short posts without opening a new tab/window...

(Have pity on those poor souls using a netbook!)  !!!

I just installed a tool tip mod. When viewing the topics in a forum, hover over each topic to see a tool tip of the first post in the topic. Have fun!

Is it possible to turn this off from my end as in my settings or something.
I find it really irritating... then can you tell me how to turn this feature off my computer completely?

LOL- bugs the crap out of me and my comp does it automatically cos its "helping me" and "thinking for me"... but instead of feeling warm and fuzzy cos i have a computer that cares i want to punch the bloody thing

Short answer is no, it's a global thing. If I turn it off then it stays off for everyone.

Is there an add-on or a way of a user marking a single thread as read without having to view it?  Or a way of marking an entire section as read and never of interest?

I log on and click the show unread threads link and would like to be able to bin those threads that are of no interest to me.
