Title: Homebrew
Post by: andrew (nob) on February 14, 2010, 01:10:28 PM
Hi,

A couple of people asked me about my homebrewing at Rollerball's last night.

My three favourite kits are -

Coopers International Series Canadian Blonde, with Coopers Brew enhancer #2
- a nice light beer with a reasonable hop level

Coopers International Series Australian Pale Ale with Coopers Brew enhancer #2
- Very similar to Coopers Green

Thomas Cooper Collection Sparkling Ale with a can of Coopers Liquid Malt
- Very similar to Coopers Red

My favourite generic beer is Carlton, and I prefer Coopers Red over Coopers Green.

Over the next few months I'll have a meet at my place in Newtown (actually St Peters) and you can sample some of the home brew then.

Used to do quite a bit of brewing myself.. i would do 50ltr batches mashed from the grain. At one point, id be making at least 1 of these a month and ran a brew club also, entered competitions and did quite well. Then i gave up the grog ( temptation was too much for me!) sold off the mash tun and boilers, the mill, the bar with double font, all the kegs and CO2 bottles etc and bought a bike instead.
I have the odd beer now and then ( fat yak pale is my fav at the moment) but find it now gives me hayfever the next day - which is why my nose is running right now.

Beer - its an evil temptress!! LOL!!!!

Homebrew and pinball were meant to be together.
You can fit 4 milkcrates of homebrew under each pinball machine!
