Title: Pinball Tales - Introduction
Post by: el_timbo86 on July 27, 2010, 11:22:49 PM
First off, i'd like to thank everyone here for their continued support and passion for everything PINBALL   @@*

Pinball Tales is a full service restoration business founded in 2010; and offers 'complete, refinished, collector quality pinball machines to the customer'.

In order to offer such a service, each game is completely torn down - and rebuilt from the ground up. This results in an end-product; which I feel is, in many cases better than its

original 'factory' finish.

Our service includes, but is certainly not limited to  -

  * Complete cabinet refinishing and restoration
    - Automotive grade protective paint coatings
    - New grounding braid installation
    - Cabinet decal application

  * Full playfield restoration and clearcoating
      - Insert Levelling
     - Use and application of Automotive grade protective coatings
     - Buffing and polishing

  * Metal refinishing
          - Sandblasting
          - Degreasing
          - Buffing
          - Regraining
     - Chrome Plating
     - Full mech. and assy. rebuilds including re-sleeving of all game coils

  * Specialised welding
     - All major mech and assembly repair

  * Full Milling service

  * Wiring harness service and board repair
    - All major board work carried our by Melbourne Pinball Restorations
    - Full wiring loom re-ties and cleaning.

I hope i have given you some idea of the type of finish you could expect from a Pinball Tales game.

The Pinball Tales website has been put together in a way that will allow potential customers to follow the progress of a games 'build' - and log an expression of interest if a game being worked on appeals to them. As the game enters its final restoration stage, customers who placed an expression of interest will be notified first - and are given the opportunity to purchase the game before it is announced publically for sale.

The Aussie Pinball forum has provided me with a wealth of support and thousands of ideas - and i have made some fantastic friends as a result. Although I am a newer member here, I am absolutely passionate about the pinball hobby, and want to do everything i can to help it grow in popularity.

I hope you take the time to browse the Pinball Tales site, and see in detail exactly what's on offer.

Well done Tim, your website looks first class, great to have such a valuble resource in Geelong, good luck with the venture mate  ^^^

PS when you get the rollergames going I am going to have to invite myself over for a game, many years ago it was the pin that got me back into pinball and sowed the seed into my brain that I could own a game in my house, haven't played one since  %$%

I have a feeling i'll struggle to part with Rollergames - i had never really researched the game, until i picked it up. It certainly looks like an exciting pinball. I'll let you know when its finished and you'll have to pop in for 'testing'  :lol .

Cheers guys,

El-Timbo is the new Treasure Cove of Australia. Attention to detail is very very indepth.

The playfield clear coating, as well as the playfield airbrush work is amazing.

The level of work is the best I have seen in Australia, and I have bought machines from almost every seller out there.

Great website. You will have people fighting to buy your restored machines. Which is a good thing !  ^^^ ^^^ ^^^

There are alot of us who live in QLD, who think anyone who lives in Melbourne is lucky. (except ya lousy weather  *)*)

You guys have all the big sellers like Mark C, Bumper and Bikecity.

You have alot of resto people, most of the memeber base for the forum,and so on.

Then, last but not least, u have guys like El-Timbo who can take a tired machine, and after some magic, can turn it into a star attraction that any collector would want in their collection cause they are resto'd to look like new again. It dont get better than that.

You guys in melbourne are very lucky indeed. Melbourne is the Pinball capital of the world.  ^^^

The website is "right up there" with Wotto's (which I consider the best resto site around!) - Nice to lose an hour or so looking at all that "eye candy" !

I look forward to the resto threads !

It is a great Steve Ritchie design, the only downside to the game, is the music can get a little repeditive, but a cool game, which I have spent many hours playing, look forward to it mate  ^^^ We Geelong boys would be happy to lend our help any time as your restoration testers  *)*

How's business? Very quiet in your section...any resto threads coming up?
Title: Re: Pinball Tales - Introduction
Post by: Caveoftreasures on August 20, 2012, 01:21:15 PM
there have been quite a few resto threads El_timbo has done in other sections.

The BEST way to find them, is to click on El-Timbos avatar picture, then go down to the bottom of the page and click on - see members recent posts which will bring up any post Tim has done. That way u can scroll thru and see any threads or posts he has done which will show you the various threads he has done on restos with great bunches of photos !

the restores are world class.

I know Tim has been very busy working on some exceptional machines since Christmas which has kept him flat out. A little birdy gave me a clue about a new resto which will knock everyone's socks off. I hope he does get time to post it here as will be well worth it and setting even higher standards.

Yes, plenty happening at HRP, bigger showroom/restore area, some sensational titles moving through the place. I was there a couple of weeks ago, Tim keeps setting higher standards every time.

He's doing a couple of clear coats for me right now.

Waiting for the clear to set will be a real bummer!! Can't wait to swap the PM in (the BBB will stay in storage).
