Title: Melamine Foam (Magic Eraser)
Post by: 48 on September 18, 2010, 11:55:58 PM
Thanks to a suggestion from someone on this forum (can't remember who sorry) I hopped onto ebay and
found a supplier overseas (Korea I think) and bought it bulk about 1/3 the price of here.
As it turns out the blocks were about 4 times as big as the ones I had here, I thought I can cut them down.
Realised I can cut a heap of different sizes for hard to get places.
Guess it was obvious but I didn't think of it when I was buying it.
BTW the foam I got seems to be the same quality as here.
Cheers

I knew someone would ask me that, should have looked it up at the time.
Looks like I bought it from China, not Korea.
Company was called Honest Fly.  *%*
 Honest-f  is the ebay name.
I received 30 blocks size: 90mm X 60mm X 30mm
It cost me 6.99 GBP   shipped.

I've been using Chux ME for years, it does a great job. I'd be interested in seeing the results of this ME, because at that price, it would be worth stocking up.

Well Nino,
The good news is I was doing Gorgar last night and was using the Chux stuff, and switched over halfway through to Honestfly  %.%
Whilst I don't have your experience by any stretch of the imagination, I am damned if I can see any difference with it.
Just looked at my work this morning and it all looks OK to me.
Please bear in mind that I am still a little new to this stuff.
Cheers

When you get it, open carefully.
It's just the foam inside the box.
Attack too hard and you will cut the foam.

Thanks for the info mate, has to work out much cheaper than buying it in the shops.  It probably comes out of the same factory anyway.   :D

As well as pinball machines, this stuff is awesome around the house as well, especially the shower to get the grime off relatively easily.

Got some as well - 50 pack to start the spring cleaning.   %$%

Took over a month to recieve mine. They look and feel like the ME from the supermarket. They are not cut straight, so that could be a reason why they are seconds. I'm yet to try them, but I will be soon !
