Title: Cosmic Gunfight shoots into life!
Post by: 48 on October 11, 2010, 07:46:28 PM
Finally got most of the bugs sorted over the weekend (still hate Molex crimps!) and finally managed to have a few decent games on it.
I am really surprised what a great ruleset it has ( is that the expression?).
Lots of accurate shots needed to get a good score, even the drop targets (3 banks of 3) have a sequence to knock them down in for extra points.
As well the bonus multiplier carries over from ball to ball, the idea is to try and get it to 5X on your first ball.
2 ball multiball as well, plus an extra ball after the game is over, also a multiball. Effectively its a 6 ball game if you can hit the 3 standup targets 3 times each, changable by hitting both flippers at once.
Lane change top for the right flipper and lane change top left for the left flipper.
So much going on it can be hard to remember to hit the ball.
Can't believe there are not more of these machines made, its really a great game.
Still have to strip the playfield and novus and wax and all that, but couldn't wait to play a game, was testing and got distracted.

Think this one is going to stay in the collection for a long time. *%*

I'd retain this machine in the collection simply for its rarity and cool artwork !

Real sleeper (and rare).
I only saw and played one of these in the wild many years ago.
Did not play it enough to realy get into the ruleset but still enjoyed. Kind of like a cross between Firepower and Black Knight on a single level playfield but with a unique ruleset.
At the time, the jeweled plastic inserts realy caught my eye.

The reason I resurect this old thread is that I was in deep thought after completing the Sunday questionaire and thinking about some titles that I played in the past which never come up.

Cosmic Gunfight and Spirit are 2 titles which should have sold more than they did and as a result rarely come up for sale.

Nice one Lindsay
