Just look at the link and make your own mind up . It will NEVER replace the real thing , but , it may help you make that critical decision before you buy ya next pinny and save you $$$$ .

RBION, ok, but with a very crowded playfield, hard to see what I am suposed to be doing

I have been running this for a couple of months on my Galaxy Tab (Android). I like BH and MM. Emulation is not 100% but it is a very good attempt. Lower play field on BH is a bit warped in the depth view.
Nothing like the real thing but the next best thing. Looking forward to release of BK.

This app is great! I am one of those people who have sparked an interest in pinball as a result of this app having never really been exposed to them before.

Love MM it's my favourite, still haven't been able to beat king of Payne... Wish this table wasn't so expensive in the flesh. Bride of Pinbot is excellent as well, love the concept & sound effects, much easier too. Can't wait for more tables, I hear they are possibly getting TZ License but that it may be too expensive, hope they do, wasn't around when twilight zone was airing but Futurama do a hilarious satire of it all the time. Great theme!

Awesome , MM is a bit pricey you are right , but you can pick up a fairly cheap unrated title and have heaps of fun and frustration too !
Just be careful though as they breed and are more addictive than cocaine !!!
good to hear this app has brought you to want the real deal and  %)%

Thanks! My budget will stretch to a MM, but I'm thinking I'd have more fun with 2-3 cheaper titles so they may have already begun breeding before I've even started!

I tell ya....don't know what the go is with CV.
Somehow and i don't know how i got there, but managed to reach Join The Circus. Spealt the word but lost the ball at the next stage - called the attendant and the ball came from behind the ramp and sdtm.

Next game, plunger shoots 2 balls in play.....that's not the norm isn't?

What else?
Ball stuck and caught whilst Ringmaster was up.

Can't wait to read the tutorials though.

As for MM, the upgrade has turned a nice looking grey castle into one infected with a green/moss looking virus!

NOOK Tablet : The Pinball Arcade currently runs great on the latest NOOK Tablet and FarSight has plans for a future release.

PC : FarSight is still working on the engine for the PC version and will not release it until the graphics are at least up to the standards set by the 360 and PS3 versions. PA is much better by all accounts as we learn from most programmable gear , it still has tweaks to be done to improve as time goes on.

ADD-ON PACK #3

Monster Bash™ and Gorgar™ are currently available for the mobile versions of the Pinball Arcade! These two Williams™ classics are great tables that we hope you all enjoy.

Monster Bash is one of our all-time favorites. The goal is to get Frankenstein, Dracula, and four other iconic Universal Studios Monsters® to form a band the likes of which has never been seen! With the help of the PHANTOM FLIP auto-play feature, you can let go of the flippers and watch the game complete your shots.

Gorgar was the very first “talking” pinball machine. It has a magnetic Snake Pit that holds your ball captive as he thunders, “Me got you”. The audio also features a heartbeat that races faster and faster as the action of the gameplay builds when the player is doing well.

Console Update

Add-on pack #1: Medieval Madness™ and Bride of PinBot™ as well as add-on pack #2: Circus Voltaire™ and Funhouse™ have been released on PS3 and PSVita in North America. On 360, the first three add-on packs have been approved and await the approval of the title update which should be coming very soon. The European release of the PS3 version has been held up in order to be synced with the PSVita version. They are scheduled to be released on July 11th. The add-on packs in Europe will be submitted once the PSVita has been approved. We hope to catch the European Pinball Arcade up to the North American version within the next month or two.

Important Note About the PS3 Update

In North America, add-on packs #1 and #2 have been released for the PS3 and PSVita!

We understand that some people are having issues with the latest update on PS3 of the Pinball Arcade. For those who purchased the launch pack and are having trouble, please follow these steps:

1. Re-download the "Pinball Arcade Demo" and the "Pinball Arcade Full Game Unlock" from PSN Games. You shouldn’t have to delete the old version of the game.
2. Install the "Pinball Arcade Demo". When you open the game the trial versions of the new tables should be in the menu.
3. Make sure to download the Add On Packs after you have re-downloaded the "Pinball Arcade Demo".

If this doesn’t work, deleting the old version and then following these steps should certainly work. You will not be charged a second time.

This is a onetime issue on PS3 due to a bug that we have fixed regarding PSN updates in our game. This is not an issue on the PSVita version. We apologize any inconvenience.

Mobile Update

Add-on pack #3 with Monster Bash and Gorgar has been released on Android devices, iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touches. An update has been submitted to Apple with Game Center support and will be released once it is approved. We are on schedule to release add-on pack #4 in mid-July.

We are very proud that Apple recognized our game in the App Store as the Free App of the Week! We hope this exposes many new people to our obsession with classic pinball. Help us spread the word about joining our pinball community on iOS. This is the perfect time to do so – new players will get the paid version of the app (along with the great Tales of the Arabian Nights table) for free!

Thank You for Helping Us Add the Twilight Zone

Thanks to the dedication and generosity of our Kickstarter backers the Twilight Zone pinball project has been successfully funded! We are amazed and humbled by the tremendous outpouring of support the project received from all of you.

Amazingly our backers pledged substantially more than the amount required for the Twilight Zone licenses. As promised we will apply the excess towards the licenses for the fantastic Star Trek: The Next Generation table. We'll be launching a new Kickstarter project in the next month of two for this new table, and based on the head start we feel very confident it will be successful too. You guys are amazing!

We will soon begin the process of disassembling and capturing our new Twilight Zone table. We'll post some updates along the way to keep you apprised of our progress. As the launch date for the table approaches (hopefully November) we will contact you with details about getting your Rewards out to you.

We are incredibly excited to get going on this great table. Thanks again for your support!

Thank you very much for supporting the Pinball Arcade!

FINALLY ! PS3 for Australia has arrived today and well worth the wait .  :D
It does have a bit of lag in flippers, but you soon play to allow for this.
The reproduction to video game is AMAZING and even though it isn't like playing the real tables it is firkin brilliant ( give it a go )
I just wasted 4 1/2 hours and love it.
It made me go out and smash around my own pinnies  for a while too - I love it all.

Also CFBL and BK are heading to this very unique and well executed game very soon . If I had room and $ I would have it all but geez this is a great way to play

Just downloaded CFTBL and BK on Android. Tried a few games of BK one of my all time favourites and it is very buggy at the moment. The programmers need some serious work to get game up to scratch.

MORE LIGHT READING FOR ALL
 && && && && &&
Table Pack #4: Creature From the Black Lagoon™ and Black Knight™ has been released for Android and iOS. These two Williams™ classics are great tables that we hope you all enjoy. The Table of the Month is The Machine: Bride of Pin·Bot™ which can be played for free if you haven’t bought Table Pack #1.

Creature from the Black Lagoon is one of our all-time favorites. The goal is to rescue your date from the Creature. It features a holographic Creature that appears during your date at a 1950s style drive-in movie. The table also features actual footage from the classic Universal movie.

Black Knight was the very first pinball machine to feature a multi-level playfield and Magna Save. Magnets can catch your ball to prevent it from draining. You also hear the Black Knight issuing insults as you try and best him, saving the land from his rule.

Playstation Update

Add-on Pack #1: Medieval Madness™ and Bride of PinBot™ as well as Add-on Pack#2: Circus Voltaire™ and Funhouse™ have been released on PS3 and PSVita in North America.

Add-on Pack#3: Gorgar™ and Monster Bash™ and Add-on Pack#4: Black Knight™ and Creature from the Black Lagoon™ have been submitted on PS3 and PSVita in North America. We hope to have both of these add-on packs available before the end of August.

The Pinball Arcade has launched in Europe and Australia on PS3 and Vita!

All four add-on packs will be submitted shortly. The SCEE add-on packs are scheduled to be submitted at the earliest date available to get into test at Sony Europe. We hope to get all add-on packs available world-wide within a couple months.

360 Update

Add-on Table Pack #1 and Add-on Table Pack #2: Circus Voltaire™ and Funhouse™ have been released worldwide for 360. The update for the four launch table will be available on August 2nd.

Add-on Table Pack #3: Gorgar™ and Monster Bash™ is in submission at Microsoft. We hope to have it released mid-August

Nintendo Update

3DS - We still have not obtained the performance we need out of the 3DS to run our ROM emulation. We have not given up. The 3DS version is on hold until we can dedicate more time to this R&D.

Wii/Wii-U - FarSight developed 12 titles for the Wii. Unfortunately, the Wii isn't powerful enough to run Pinball Arcade. We are very excited about the Wii-U. The Wii-U project has been set up and this version is in development at the engine level. We hope to release our game as close to the launch of the platform as possible.

GameCenter Update

We are now releasing updates with Game Center enabled, so you can track achievements and high scores as well as compete with your friends for highest score/ most achievements. A Game Center account is required to use the Game Center portion, but it is not required for actual play. We are also implementing a new leaderboard called Hall of Fame. This leaderboard takes the final score on any table you own and converts it into leaderboard points. These points get posted to the leaderboard and lets you compare your level of skill with your friends and around the world.

We have implemented a new overall score to rank your skills against other players across all of the tables in the Pinball Arcade! We calculate this score using your best score ever on each table and award Hall of Fame points based on it. The table score required to earn one Hall of Fame point is different for every table due to the different relative scoring. Your total Hall of Fame score is the sum of your Hall of Fame points earned on each table. Note that the most Hall of Fame points that you can earn on a single table is 1000, so a perfect score for someone who owns all of the tables we have released so far on iOS and Android is 12,000.

PC/OSX Update

Mac - Table Pack #4 has been submitted and will be released as soon as it is approved. Mac OS Lion is required for DLC purchases. There is nothing that we can do about the OS restriction.

PC - While we know this news may disappoint our fans eagerly awaiting the PC version - we are still working on the PC game. We will not release it until the graphics are at least up to the standards set by the 360 and PS3 versions. We also still need to find distribution partners (traditional desktop and/or cabinet). Our goal is to everything sorted out in time for the Twilight Zone release later this year.

FarSight Log-in

To address concerns and issues associated with requiring a Facebook account and app installed to log into our leaderboards, we have implemented a new FarSight login to access the Pinball Arcade leaderboards. This new log-in method will improve security and make tracking down bugs easier. We are phasing out the Facebook login entirely, so you will need to create a FarSight login. Please note that as long as you use the same email address for our login that you used when setting up your Facebook login your previous leaderboard scores will be preserved.

Table Pack #6 Coming in September

No Good Gofers!™ will be a part of Table Pack #6. We have made a lot of gameplay improvements to the PHOF version as well as enhancements in our art for the Pinball Arcade version. No Good Gofers is a fun table for pinball hackers and seasoned pros. It was released by Williams in 1997 and features two menacing gophers, Buzz and Bud. The other table release in this pack will be announced next week in a video featuring a friend of ours who also stars in the table!

Just downloaded MM and BOP for PS3
very cool indeed. I have NEVER played Medieval Madness before and am having an absolute blast with it. Probably never afford one of these so am extremely grateful for this simulator of real pinball machines.  #*#
A quick message to the MOD who decided to move this thread into NON PINBALL/ COIN OP , are you mental. If it is not pinball related, then what is it ?  !@#
Looks like alot of people are enjoying reading this thread and I am suggesting that it be moved back to General Pinball Discussion.

If you haven't tried PINBALL ARCADE on any format you may have, give it a whirl, you may just have a bit of fun with a game you may never get to play- Purist or not !

Some iPad players must be admitting that there is nothing like physical flippers and plunger.

Ah, but the elusive physical silver ball does not come with this package so still keep playing the real thing.

Funhouse and Cirqus Voltaire came out yesterday for the PS3 and I am loving it. CV is another table I have yet to play in real life and some pretty cool features,
FH is an awesome translation of the real deal  and captures all its glory, I believe CFTBL is next up and am pretty chuffed to OWN these tables so far &&
Tournaments are due on-line shortly so that that will make it a GLOBAL competition, pretty cool me thinks.
Any others on line that want to share there user name let me know as I would love to multiplayer up on-line.
OLDSKOOL1969 is obviously mine
Cheers
p.s. for the EM players amongst us  ^^^ , Gottliebs 1973 classic BIG SHOT is in the makings too!

more light reading if ya like - TWILIGHTZONE coming soon cccccccoooooooooooolllTable Pack #7: Scared Stiff™ and Big Shot™ has just been released for OSX, iOS and Android. These classics are great tables that we hope you all enjoy. The Table of the Month is No Good Gofers™, which can be played for free if you haven’t bought Table Pack #6.

Scared Stiff™ is another amazing game featuring Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. It was designed by Mark Weyna and Dennis Nordman, who also designed Elvira and the Party Monsters™. The players are challenged with completing the six Tales of Terror in order to achieve the ultimate goal: to rise to the level of Scared Stiff. A unique feature is an interactive 3-D spinning spider on the backglass.

Big Shot™ is the two player version of the 1973 table Hot Shot. This pool themed game is very popular among expert players and collectors because of the skill required to hit the 14 drop targets. There were only 2900 units manufactured despite the fact that the gameplay is now considered classic.

We have Videos!!!

We present some really cool videos to sync with the release of Table Pack7!

Table Pack 1: Medieval Madness™ and Bride of Pinbot™ was released on Sept 19th.

Table Pack 2: Cirqus Voltaire™ and Funhouse™ was released on Oct. 3rd.

XBox 360 Update

FarSight offers its apologies for the delays in releasing additional content for the Xbox 360 of Pinball Arcade. We want to assure 360 players that these delays are temporary and we fully intend to continue supporting this console. The issues are not the fault of Microsoft nor are they due to the title update procedure. The 360 is the only platform that we cannot publish on directly. Selling digital content requires a current Publishing License Agreement (PLA) with Microsoft to release games. We are working through complications regarding our publisher Crave Entertainment filing bankruptcy. At this moment, we are not able to submit new content. However, we expect to start rolling out the updates shortly and catch the Table Pack releases on 360 up to the other platforms within a few months.

iOS/OSX and PC Update

iOS - Table Pack 7: Scared Stiff and Big Shot was just released.

OSX/Mac - Table Pack #6: Elvira and the Party Monsters™ and No Good Gofers™ was released on Oct. 20th. Table Pack 7: Scared Stiff™ and Big Shot™ was released today.

PC - We are at #92 on Steam Greenlight! We need to get to the top 20 to be published! Please vote for us at:

Announcing the Pro Menu!

The first Pro Menu has been released on Tales of the Arabian Nights for iOS and Android. This is an exciting new feature that will give players a wide variety of options and modes to play with, as well as tracking in-game stats. The options and modes in this Pro Menu are:

Operators Menu:

Set how easy it is to earn extra balls and how many can be earned
Set the number of balls per game
Set how long the ball saver lasts
Set how long the Shooting Stars stay lit
Track your in-game stats, i.e. number of times Genie Multiball was started
Explore Table Mode: gives you camera control so you can look around the table and explore each playfield.

Ball Control: control the ball with the touch screen, disabling gravity and giving you complete control over the bal(s) in play.

Finally, in the Pro Menu: access Pro Tips from the IFPA (International Flipper Pinball Association) pros themselves!

All of this is available when you upgrade your table to the Pro Version!

Now For Something a Bit Different:

We have, in our studio, 20+ real working tables! These tables are what we use when we create a digital version for our game. Above is the first in a series of pics that will be featured in the coming issues of the newsletter. Who knows? We might end up revealing a table or two. :)

TOURNAMENTS!!!!

Believe it or not! We have hinted at this and we have talked about this and now we are announcing this!! We will be releasing the beta of our tournaments. This will be an open tournament, featuring the first four tables we released: Tales of the Arabian Nights, Black Hole, Ripley's Believe It or Not, and Theatre of Magic. This will be open for everyone on iOS and Android next month.

Pinball NYC

We were pleased to help sponsor a real pinball tournament for Pinball New York City!

Pinball NYC was founded in late 2010 with a mission to help promote and revive pinball in New York City. At the heart of Pinball NYC is a competitive team league which currently features 18 teams and more than 125 competitors. Every team has a "home" bar, and every week they play against another team either at home, or at their opponent's bar.

While the league is the main component of Pinball NYC, it is not the only one. They also host pinball parties and tournaments throughout the year, and help promote local pinball related news and events on their website: (www.pinballnyc.com)

They actually have a team of young players whose captain discovered the league after first discovering pinball on his iPhone.

We're very happy that pinball is experiencing a resurgence. We like to think that this is due in part to our efforts and organizations like Pinball New York City!

Video Interviews Are Now!

We’ve been conducting video interviews with several legendary table designers and pinball players. The first interview we have for you all is Josh Sharpe, son of legendary pinball wizard Roger Sharpe. In this video he is talking to us about our approval process that happens before a table can be submitted to anyone for release.

Just got TAXI and Harley Davidson 3rd edition today for the PS3, TAXI is furkin great and gives that good system 11 buzz, meanwhile HD3 is an absolute dog !
I have never seen HD3 in real life and I believe they are sought after, WTF it is as boring as Bat Crap and is way to corny for my liking.

You are 100% correct in my opinion, dullest game ever! For me, its got nothing going for it, perhaps if you we're really into your bikes you'd feel differently but I don't get it.
Also agree taxi is cool but the best thing about these games is that they give you the opportunity to play games you may not have ever come across as well as give you the chance to play some of the games you might not have seen in years.

Interesting, I have played a Harley Davidson but probably only a few games. Certainly wasn't boring in that time-frame. The machine is really impressive in terms of looks in real life, maybe it looks better than it plays!

Before I had a pinball machine and especially when I was looking, I used to play on computer to get a feel for the gameplay. Since owning a pinball machine or two, I can't remember playing on the computer, and in fact don't even have any software installed at the moment!

I agree somewhat with you A, but the simple fact is most of these CLASSIC and highly collectible games are now in collectors homes and the chance to play such a wide variety is now virtually non-existent. ( unless you are in a great club like PPCR  ^^^ )
I for one applaud the developers of this concept as they utilise the original ROMS and also individually scan each part of the machine to make it as authentic as possible.
Plus they also are keeping the dream alive! Just have a look at their website and watch the video to see how much detail they go through.
Yeah its not the real thing, I too have a few machines, but due to ill health can not stand and play these for long periods of time , Pinball Arcade allows me to at least have a good bash in the comfort of my recliner.  %.%
Oh yeah BTW I just downloaded EATPM & NGG , what a blast!
What ever happened to original, fun, humorous games. Enough already with the licensed themes and comic book crap! I am still waiting to spend my cash on fun fun fun, thought Heighway Pinball had a pearler coming with their CIRCES ANIMAL HOUSE, but nooooooo they had to change it to a serious theme as it appeals to the masses ppppffffffttttt !!!!!
I hear amongst my small little world that people want fun and humour back  ^&^

Because I know we all like some reading, looks good for the future of this game.

TWILIGHT ZONE™

We are very excited to announce that this fantastic table is now available in the Pinball Arcade for iOS, Mac, and Android! This table will also be released on other supported platforms in the near future. We want to acknowledge the amazing support our Kickstarter backers have shown in funding the up-front licensing costs for this table. Thanks to you we’re able to offer this table for only $4.99 (instead of the $9.99 we had planned), despite having to pay a royalty on each sale that is several times higher than any table we’ve done before. As a small token of our appreciation, anyone who backed this table on Kickstarter at $10 or more will receive the table on the device of their choice PLUS the Pro version of the table PLUS a cool Twilight Zone™ custom pinball that can be used in any table in the game. Thank you for supporting us! The Table of the Month is No Good Gofers™, which can be played for free this month only..

Twilight Zone™ is based on the TV series of the same name and is arguably the most popular and complex pinball machine ever made. In fact the Pinball Arcade instructions we wrote for this table are over 700 pages long! Imagine having to figure all of that out on your own! After the commercial success of The Addams Family®, Pat Lawlor was given free rein to create this brilliantly designed table.

When it was released, Twilight Zone had more features with patents pending than any other game in history. Among its notable features is a fully functional gumball machine, an analog clock that functions as a timer in various modes, industry first MagnaFlip™ magnetic flippers and a unique ceramic pinball called the Powerball.

STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION™

We are very excited to announce that this fantastic table is now available in the Pinball Arcade for iOS, Mac, and Android! This table will also be released on other supported platforms as soon as possible. We want to acknowledge the amazing support our Kickstarter backers have shown in funding the up-front licensing costs for this table. Thanks to you we’re able to offer this table for only $4.99 (instead of the $9.99 we had planned), despite having to pay a royalty on each sale that is several times higher than most other tables. The Table of the Month is still No Good Gofers™, which can be played for free.

Check out this video featuring Star Trek gameplay!

Star Trek: The Next Generation™ is another incredible design from Steve Ritchie. Based on the hit television series, it puts players in the roll of an honorary Starfleet Officer serving next to their favorite characters from the show. Features include eight different U.S.S Enterprise missions, many Multi-Ball Modes, Holodeck Video Modes and opportunities to advance in rank.

One unique feature is a patented, below the playfield multiple ball delivery system, which results in continuous gameplay when balls on the playfield fall into a cellar hole. With its amazing feature set, custom speech by eight original cast members and the show’s theme song and music, this table appeals to all players but is a Star Trek fan’s dream come true.

Announcing Pro versions of Star Trek and Medieval Madness!

This month we are pleased to announce new Pro versions of Star Trek™ and Medieval Madness! Rumor has it that you can use the operator's menu in Medieval Madness Pro to turn off Family Mode and hear the original voice-over from the unrated ROM as you play the game- very cool! This brings the total number of Pro versions available to 5, including Twilight Zone, Scared Stiff, and Tales of the Arabian Nights. Pro version support for the PS3 and PS Vita will be released with the next update.

New User Interface

The new update fearures a brand-new user interface built around easier access to your tables! The new interface will be rolled out for all platforms over the next few months. The interface initially works only on a landscape orientation, but we are working on a portrait orientation that will be released in the January update. The pinball tables can still be played in either portrait or landscape modes. Tell us what you think of the new interface!

Latest Playstation News (updated Dec. 28th)

We were hoping to get Twilight Zone released before the holidays, but it will about a month longer.

There are currently 8 different packages for the Pinball Arcade in submission for the PS3 and PSVita versions at SCEA and SCEE: the Twilight Zone table and the Table Pack that includes Scared Stiff and Big Shot plus Sony Format QA is currently testing the Pro Versions of Medieval Madness, Scared Stiff, Tales, and Twilight Zone. The TZ custom ball is also in test.

The scheduled release dates that we currently have from Sony range from January 22, 2013 to February 13, 2013. We’re sorry for the additional wait. The Star Trek:TNG table will be submitted along with the January table pack shortly. Hopefully, the testing cycle will be quicker now that we’re out of the holiday rush.

Latest XBox 360 News (updated Dec. 28th)

FarSight has selected a new publisher for the Xbox 360 version of the Pinball Arcade! We are in the final stages of finalizing the contract. This process has taken months – as game publishing deals often do. With our previous publisher’s bankruptcy involved, it is extraordinarily complicated in terms of the Pinball Arcade.

We anticipate submitting this new version of the Pinball Arcade in January. FarSight has been assured that all previous purchases can and will be entitled when we re-launch. We will keep our fans updated as best we can and announce when we have firm release dates. The plan is for Twilight Zone and Star Trek: The Next Generation (kickstarter backers to be emailed a redemption code) to be available as DLC from day one.

We appreciate the patience shown to us. This situation has been difficult for FarSight from a business standpoint and we know it has been very frustrating for the fans. With a little luck and support, 2013 will be the year of the Pinball Arcade on 360 with 40 tables available by the end of the year!

Nintendo Wii-U Update

Pinball Arcade for the Wii-U is now in the hands of Nintendo! We will make an annoucement when we know more about the release date.

A Pinball Arcade Exposé!

We are happy to lnk an an article that was written by Chris Friebus (a fan from PinballArcadeFans.com) after visiting us up in Big Bear recently. The write-up includes a look into how we work, a few clues as to some upcoming tables, a little insider gossip and some insights about how passionate we are about pinball and our game. We'd like to thank Chris for taking the time to write this and to Gord Lacey and Jeff Strong for all that they do for the fan forum in supporting us.

Pro pack enabled me to reach Battle for the Kingdom last night on MM, set to 5ball game + extra balls along the way.
Needed a few more shots to the gate and this wizard mode would have been done - bloody trolls.
This took me around 25min and there was no way i was going to continue the WHOLE process again.

Wish Pinball Arcade could change back to the original physics of CFTBL.

Can't wait for AFM.

Table Pack #8: Attack From Mars™ and Genie™ has just been released for iOS and Android. These are two fantastic tables! The Table of the Month is Medieval Madness™ Pro, which can be played for free this month.

Attack From Mars™ was designed by Brian Eddy, who also designed Medieval Madness™. An army of Martians is attacking Earth and it’s the player’s job to defend it. With its open playfield and easy to understand rules this table is a blast to play. Features include a moving flying saucer in the middle of the playfield, dancing Martians and a hypnotic strobe light.

Genie™ is considered by many to be the best wide-body table of its era and possibly of all-time, a true Gottlieb® classic that is very addictive. This table was designed with well thought-out objectives and features five flippers. Two flippers in the upper left corner create a mini playfield.

Thanks for the heads up, just had a game and scored 230M and nearly walked away from it. I don't know if this is a top score for this title but it seemed to be one big flip fest.

I don't know how accurate the game play is but if it's close this A lister is not for me. Can't wait for the next freebie to see if I'd like to buy. I have mb, gorgar and enjoy gorgar the most

Not as good as the real thing of coarse but defiantly the next best thing, it makes you want to go out and buy the real ones. personally I'm really enjoying Genie at the moment. I'd love to own one of these to. The art work is fantastic and the game play addictive. The perfect combination!

+1 but the trial versions run for too short a time to get a real feel on whether to purchase. Trying MM last night has convinced me not to buy the sim and maybe the real deal

For me the older pre DMD titles on this are more fun, the more gear on the playfield the harder it is to work out what's going on. i guess thats just what you get when you're trying to play a game thats normally viewed in 3D but has been rendered back into 2D.

Don't be a tight arse and buy the game if you think the trial is too short  %.%
it is probably 1/10,000th the cost of a real MM! I too would love the real deal, but I can not justify the inflated price asked for an old machine- as fun as it is.

I play it on the iPad, it has different camera options also but I tend to just play on the default setting.

I'd like to see a game on the PS3, I bet they look pretty good on a big screen.

The designers have admitted to making the recreations easier than the real table, due to the physics not being exactly correct. I think they have done a great job, obviously not perfect but worthwhile all the same. I have purchased most of the tables, for around $30 bucks you get about $30000 worth of pinball machines

Agreed, great value for money. Id defiantly recommend these tables to anyone with limited access to real machines who wants to try a few before buying. While not perfect they are good enough to get an idea of what kind of pins you'll like. Good exposure for real pins to I think.

There is some lag on some games, yes. Just got Scared Stiff and the BIG SHOT EM table, the EM plays way to fast ( or maybe I am a sook ) still it is very good and SS is good fun too although a little easy at times  &&
Still loving it and the amount of tables grows and grows. Getting the POWERBALL on TZ is an awesome achievement for the developers, getting this correct would have been hard

SOME MORE LIGHT READING FOR THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED!

On February 8th, we celebrated the Pinball Arcade’s ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of our launch!

We started with just four tables on a single platform. With the Dr. Dude and Firepower Table Pack release, we now have 24 tables available on 7 different platforms. On mobile alone the Pinball Arcade has been downloaded over 5 million times!

We have also received a number of awards this year, with G4TV recognizing our game as their Mobile Game of 2012, PCWorld placing us in their Top 100 Products of 2012, Diehard GameFAN awarding us both Best All-Ages Game AND Best Digital/Downloadable Game of 2012!!! What a year!

The Pinball Arcade is currently available for:

All iPhone, iPads, and iPod touches (every Apple device from the iPhone 3GS and iPad 2 on)
Almost 2000 Android phones and tablets
Sony PS3 and PSVita
Microsoft 360
Mac OS

Our 2013 plans include:
Catching the PSN and 360 table releases up to the mobile offerings
Releasing Pinball Arcade on Wii-U, OUYA, as a Windows 8 app for desktop and Surface tablets, and as a PC game with cabinet support
Being a launch title in the digital stores for any next generation consoles released later this year
Continuing to release new tables every month
Adding support for more peripherals (like 3D TVs and the iCade) and features (more tournaments and online play)
Some other really cool stuff we can't talk about!

FarSight would like to thanks all of our fans! We can’t wait to grow this game into the dream game that we’ve always wanted to make for pinball fans everywhere!

Table Pack #11: Dr. Dude and His Excellent Ray™ and Firepower™ has just been released for iOS, Amazon and Android. These are two more awesome tables! The Table of the Month is Medieval Madness™ Pro, which can be played for free this month.

Dr. Dude and His Excellent Ray™ is a great design from Dennis Nordman. The player's goal is to raise their Dudeness level from Plain Dude to Super Dude through spectacular gameplay action, innovative scoring features and attention grabbing effects. Notable features include the Excellent Ray, Big Shot bully, Molecular Mixmaster and a Gazillion point shot.

Firepower™ is another classic design from the "King of Flow”, Steve Ritchie. It was the first solid state table to feature Multi-Ball and included many industry first features that would go on to become pinball standards. These include the first animated displays, first electronic Multi-Ball and the first use of a player controlled roll-over lanes.

Interview with Tournament Winner
(and professional player) Roy Wils

We are very happy to congratulate Roy Wils (currently ranked 20th in the world by the IFPA) for winning last month’s Pinball Arcade tournament.

This man knows how to play pinball. Last weekend he came in first in the classics tournament at the Dutch Masters and finished third in the main tournament. Roy will be representing the Netherlands at the 2013 World Championships in Germany in a couple months. We wish him the best of luck!

In our tournament, Roy beat out almost 5,000 other Pinball Arcade players to take the top spot! This is particularly exciting for us. Not only can we confirm that the scores he posted are legitimate, but we think the fact professional pinball players are winning our tournaments also indicates our pinball simulation is pretty authentic!

Roy’s unique combination of being a top IFPA Pro and one of the best players of our game will allow him to give us average players new insights into how to score better in the Pinball Arcade. Starting this month, he will join Josh and Zach Sharpe, Cayle George, and Keith Elwin in writing the Pro Version tips.

We recently asked Roy a few questions about the Pinball Arcade:

What do you like about our game?
I like Pinball Arcade a lot as it gives me the opportunity to play REAL virtual pinball everywhere I go. It brings up all those nice memories I have along with it as I played all those tables during my childhood - which is great!

What's your favorite table that we've recreated?
Star Trek: The Next Generation - hands down; the action, the lights, the sounds, the flow, the animations. It’s a truly amazing table!

Are there any general tips for scoring better on the mobile version of Pinball Arcade you can pass along?
First of all, be focused and rested, be calm and sit or stand still while playing - preferably play the game with audio turned on! I wear headphones/earplugs while playing. By that, you can understand the game better during gameplay as most tables tell you tips of what to do!
Also, there is a sort of rhythm of the ball within the game. After you play the game for a while, you will recognize that rhythm - and that will dial you into the game. Find it for yourself and you will play better!

Can you give everyone a tip or two for one of the tables in the last tournament?
I would like to give a Tournament Tip for Star Trek: TNG.
The key to getting yourself a very high score on Star Trek: TNG is NOT to aim for the obvious (which is modes and its final frontier end battle). It’s nice to pick those up along the way, though.
For getting yourself those ultra-high scores, the best strategy is to start and play multiball all day long. If multiball is over, all you do is to try to enable those locks again by shooting the right orbit, and at lock number 3 start Multiball.
Those jackpots within multiball can be gigantic during the course of multiball action as the base jackpot value can and will grow to very high point levels.
For example, during my last big game during the Tournament, I had 3x jackpots worth an astounding 600 Million points! The jackpot scoop shot can be easy to shoot for once you are dialed into it!

Thanks, Roy! On behalf of the Pinball Arcade – we look forward to working with you to help us make our game as good as it can be!

Latest Playstation News

We are celebrating!!!

Twilight Zone was released on PlayStation3 and Vita on February 5 in both North America and Europe.
We have sent out the Kickstarter Redemption codes to the North American PSN accounts, and are waiting on Sony Europe to get us the European codes so we can send them out.

Table Pack 7 (including Scared Stiff and Big Shot) was released worldwide on PlayStation3 and Vita February 12th.

Medieval Madness Pro and Tales of the Arabian Nights Pro are scheduled for Febrary 19th.

We have now submited Star Trek:TNG as well as the January table pack to Sony. We anticipate this test cycle to be quicker now that the holiday rush is over.

Latest Nintendo News

The 3DS version will be called Pinball Hall of Fame. This version will contain all of the non-emulated tables from both the Gottlieb and Williams collection. More information will be made available as it gets closer to release.

The Wii-U version is almost ready for submission to Nintendo as well. This is the final step we need to take to get onto the eShop and into your hands on the Wii-U.

Latest XBox News

We promised our longsuffering Xbox 360 customers an update this week, so here it is.

As most of you know, the Xbox 360 is the only platform that requires us to have a publisher instead of dealing directly with Microsoft. Our publisher Fillpoint (aka Crave Entertainment) filed bankruptcy last year, and that has wreaked havoc on our plans for releasing new tables on the Xbox 360.

We’ve been asked many times “Why don’t you just find a new publisher?” It’s not that simple, unfortunately- our contract with Fillpoint is now an asset of a bankrupt company, so we need both the consent of the creditors and the approval of the court to move the game to another publisher. The good news is that we are VERY CLOSE to getting court approval on a transfer. We wish it was happening faster (and we’re more frustrated than you- we lose money every day the new tables aren’t available on 360). But it will happen!

PC Update

In a recent talk at DICE, Valve President Gabe Newell indicated that the Greenlight process might soon be discontinued, opening the way for more games to be available on Steam. We are very optimistic that the Pinball Arcade will be able to be released on Steam as a result!

We are still working on a PC beta build designed for our Kickstarter backers. We are also exploring options for delivery and security.

In addition, we are submitting our game to Microsoft for inclusion in the Windows 8 Marketplace. This version will be playable on all devices and desktops running Windows 8 (including Surface tablets and phones).

We're going to DALLAS...

Their goal is to fill this space with more than 400 pinball machines, classic video games and other game room goodies set up on free play for everyone to enjoy the entire weekend, and FarSight will be there!

More information will be posted to Facebook and Pinball Arcade Fans as the date gets closer.

Next Month's Tables- Here's a Hint!

We have a table pack coming in March we think everyone will be very excited about. Here are some hints- can anyone guess the tables?

One new table has a connection with an area of the country we’ll be visiting next month. The other table is a re-release, and is based on a specific location somewhere completely different.

Share your guesses on Facebook and we'll announce the tables once the screenshots are ready to post!

As always, thank you very much for supporting

Looking forward to CC also as I have never played that table either.
Loving the PRO upgrades for the already released tables, this upgrade gives you access to the operators menu( as it utilises the genuine ROM's ) so you can change anything that could be changed on the original game and also the IFPA hints and tips which share some secrets into getting high scores and how to play certain tables for maximum enjoyment.
Such a great overall package and the latest update on PS3 is helping with some of the flipper lag.  @@*

In addition to the table pack, this update comes with the ability to update all of the tables via a single button and the ability to purchase custom designed ball skins, including the special Twilight Zone ball, the special Star Trek balls and the Eye ball tournament prize.

Cactus Canyon™ is a fun western themed table designed by Tom Kopera and Matt Coriale. Players try to clean up the town of Cactus Canyon before facing a showdown at the OK Corral! You're challenged with gun fights, stampedes and saving Miss Polly. The table features a gold mine with a closeable door, a moving train and a bad guy with a hat that pops off his head.

Central Park™ is considered one of the best-playing classical tables of all time. Central Park features a comical backglass animation of a monkey ringing a bell every 100 points scored. Pinball Hall of Famers consider superior table nudging and target shooting to be essential in mastering this classic table.

If you have, had or played a STTNG you will know that it is a great game but very problematic. All the techy blokes I know love the game but refuse to look under the hood as it is a bloody pain in the arse. Steve Richie definitely designed a ball tearer in more ways than one.  *)* . The sound is AWESOME as you put it through a big amp with sub woofer and crank it up LOUD  *%*
Well I just downloaded this on Pinball Arcade for my PS3 and absolutely love it. No fix ups required. I really appreciate the lengths that FARSIGHT studios go to to bring all these very sought after machines to the general populous and thus should be commended.
Still love my real pins, but this is very enjoyable too-you must play on a big screen on a next gen console to really appreciate the detail put into this.
The latest update also fixes the really bad flipper lag on some games.

:D I can't believe how many AWESOME titles are coming out on this emulation. Just got Genie which although is always better in the flesh, but it is an absolute blast to play and learn the rules in my own home before I go and set high scores on other peoples machines
Also Attack From Mars is just as comical and the sweet shots it has are nearly as good as the real thing.
At our usual Monday night meet I over heard someone saying that AFM is very similar to MM, well he copped a bagging  for that statement, but after playing these one after the other, he is dead on. Both designed by Brian Eddy and are very comical, almost identical shots ( have a good look them side by side if you can) and almost identical objectives? I see where he is coming from now.
The PRO upgrade for these tables allows you to tinker with the rules set also, just like opening up the coin door and piss farting around. Bloody Brilliant.  $#$

I enjoy Genie I think because it plays nice. it is hard to find one that works well and flippers that are strong and responsive. I don't know if a nib Genie would play as well as the sim though.

slightly off the topic and I don't want to sabotage the thread but I have a old BRONCO sim for the ipad that's plays, looks and sounds like the real deal, but its riddled with bugs and makes it basically unplayable more times than not. would have been a fantastic ap.

You are dead right, a pristine Genie ( or any other title )won't play like this, but it's not bad considering all the tables they have to emulate. Gives you a bloody good feel though.
Interesting on the BRONCO ap, always looking out for new pinball games on different platforms - LOVE EM!!!!!!

Table Pack #13: White Water™ and Space Shuttle™ has just been released today for iOS, Android, and Amazon. You're going to love these two Williams classics! This update also includes iCade support for your iPad.

The Table of the Month is Attack from Mars™. You can once again play one of the greatest tables ever made and it's FREE!

White Water™ (1993) is yet another awesome Williams table. It's a wild and fast-playing game challenging players with twists and turns down the rapids to Wet Willie's River Ranch. Beware of the flashing hazards shots! The playfield features a distracted Bigfoot and a Whirlpool that swirls the ball down.

Check out our White Water video on youtube:

Space Shuttle® (1984) features a fantastic space exploration theme. It was the first game to feature a playfield toy with a replica of NASA's Space Shuttle. With its great features and out-of-this-world gameplay excitement, this game is a once-in-a-millennium masterpiece!

Next Month's Tables - Can you guess?

Nice job on guessing Table Pack 13! The opposite day game was fun.

For Table Pack 14, we've got two greats for you; a Bally and a Williams. Back in the 80s, this Williams table outsold the Bally table by over 4 to 1 according to www.ipdb.org. But... don't discount this Bally classic, there's a good reason why it was a fan favorite.

Share your guesses on Facebook- we'll announce the tables in a couple of weeks!

As always, thank you very much for supporting
the Pinball Arcade!

Been a while so I thought I better kick this thread in the guts again. Just to piss off the purists who hate this  %.%    STOP THE HATE    *.*

Well Pinball Arcade finally did a table that I actually own, love and can give an honest opinion on how well they did to reproduce.
Dr Dude a classic from the early 90's was emulated and it is done very well, right down to the comical back glass, cabinet and toys. As they use the same sound and game ROMS it makes it a no brainer that this is not only authentic but enjoyable to listen to the GIFT of GAB song. It plays a little faster than the real deal, but I don't care. They truly capture the feel of pinball as good as a video game version and at the cost it is crazy not to have a crack. They even include details like the history of the table and reproduction numbers, original flyers, PRO tips and Tournaments to name just a few extra's

Anyway, as I own a PS3 for playing this game it means I can run it through the home theatre an crank the sound right up and play it on a 50" plasma so you can pick up the smallest detail in the games and appreciate the effort these guys ( FARSIGHT STUDIOS ) go to .

Recently for my platform they have release the classic FIREPOWER, Cactus Canyon and for the old school lovers of EM's CENTRAL PARK, very cool indeed.  $#$

IT IS ALL PINBALL AND IT IS ALL GOOD.  ^^^

Centaur's outlanes offer a unique feature allowing a well-timed nudge to save the ball from draining.

Pin·Bot (1986) is a brilliant design from industry veterans, Barry Oursler and Python Anghelo. Players are challenged to advance to all nine planets in our solar system before reaching the Sun. The playfield features the Robot Visor which can be raised revealing two eye targets for you to achieve Multi-ball.

Check out our Centaur video on youtube:

We realize that this has been a long, frustrating process and appreciate your patience.

Thank you for your continuing support!

The results are in!

The voting to add a Stern Classic table was very close, but the winner was Flight 2000 narrowly edging out Seawitch.

Flight 2000 features three Lift-Off stages and a very cool maze-like ball lock system. Be on the lookout for this fun and unique Stern table, we'll be adding it to the Pinball Arcade later this year.

Table Pack #15: The Champion Pub™ and Whirlwind™ has been released for iOS, Android, Ouya, Google Play, Mac and Amazon. You're going to love these two amazing tables!

The Table of the Month is Dr. Dude and His Excellent Ray™. For this month only, you can play this fantastic table for Free!
The Champion Pub (1998) The Champion Pub features a punching bag that rotates a 180 degrees to reveal an irate boxer, ready to rumble. You control the fight with ramps leading you to body-blowing punches or strikes directly in your opponent's face. There's also a mini-playfield where the ball is launched at a speed bag and you use the flippers as your own plastic fists! There's even a jump rope where you jump the rope using a button-controlled switch.  "I'm O'Brien, and theses are me knuckles!"

Whirlwind (1990) This Williams machine is another great Pat Lawlor table, the same designer of such classics as the Addam’s Family and Twilight Zone. This theme engulfs you in a storm chaser’s fantasy. Feel the Power of the Wind! Whirlwind blows wind in your face with a special fan once the storms begins, and includes spinning disks, cellar holes, drop targets and additional features to challenge you.
Check out our Table Pack 15 video on YouTube:

We've launched a new Kickstarter campaign for the Terminator 2: Judgment Day® pinball table. This great Williams® table is a Steve Ritchie masterpiece, and is unquestionably one of the greatest pinball tables ever created.  T2 was the first table designed to have a DMD! It was the first table to feature a video mode and the first with a ball-firing cannon.  The table has great features based on an awesome movie, and of course, it has Arnold!

The money raised through this campaign will fund the cost of the licenses needed for the table- if it succeeds, we will front the cost of development.  Please help us bring the great T2 table to consoles and mobile devices for a whole new generation to enjoy!

FANTASTIC article in Pinball Magazine vol.2 about the company FARSIGHT who created Pinball Arcade.
Worth a read and see how good this company is for pinball globally.
Some great NEW inovations coming to merge real pinball and emulated pinball including duel releases with manufacturers, pre-releases to see how the game will sell etc.etc
Can not wait for the PS4 release as it looks spectacular.
Well done Pinball Magazine for introducing this style of pinball to the unbelievers  ^^^

on the ps3, is there a setting to rotate your screen to potriat if you wanted to make a pinball cabinet?

here is a video of the icade which is compatible with pinball arcade
utoplay=1&rel=0

A guy basically took the icade and pulled it apart to make a little cabinet and said it was a improvement to play over touching the screen - just a fun little project

the buttons are further back for comfort of playing - big hands on a little cabinet.

second set of buttons on the side are for nudging

It was this game that got me into PinBall. I went from purchasing all the table packs to this month being an owner of an actual physical machine!

Scratch that, come this saturday I will own two physical machines :)

Farsight might not always put their best foot forward, but their product got me in the door of PinBall and for that I will always be thankful. Without it
I may never have even looked into pinball.

Unsure if it is my ipad4 or not but playing the free version the right flipper is not very responsive and can miss flips when pressed. Dunno if its a bug due to the gun trigger function.

Also anyone bought pinball 101. Is it worthwhile and if so, would you recommend the stream buy or a dvd purchase from the maker. Having it on my iPad means I cant put on my tv without buying an apple tv gizmo to go with my other 200 gizmos  ^&^

Not sure on iPad issue, but there will always be bugs to fix and FARSIGHTare pretty quick  to adress  these.
Pinball 101 is enjoyable to watch an you will pick up some tips.
Always buy a hard copy ie: DVD etc. that way you can cross platform your toys if one breaks down.
There are media streamers for iPad, you just need a newer tv, computer or whatever you are using.
I use a streamer from my iMac to PS3 to amp for music/video. You just have to look around

Just tested and it works fine on  Android 10 inch. The gun trigger has a button towards the top right of screen away from the flipper area.

on pin arcade you can only buy pin 101 as a streaming option. so you can never have a copy on your device but can download in real time as many times as you like. problem is your streaming via youtube I think and its not buffering at all. so you get a few seconds then it stops and you have to press play and get another 2 seconds and it stops. if you leave it there is no progression or buffering so I'm no closer to a resolution.

September 27, 2013
Table Pack #18: Haunted House™ and Tee’d Off™ has just been released for iOS, Google Play, Amazon and Ouya!

Haunted House™ (1982): was designed by John Osborne and is widely considered an iconic pinball game with its innovative features, beautiful graphics and haunting sound. This was the first table to have a triple level playfield that was accessible by one ball. The three playfield levels represent the cellar, main floor and attic of a haunted house. Players use eight flippers to move their ball through the three floors of spooky fun by shooting up and down ramps, tubes and trap doors that lead from one room to the other. Come inside, but pleased be warned, you’d best not play alone. 6,835 units of the table were produced.

Tee’d Off™ (1993): Designed by Ray Tanzer and Jon Norris, this Gottlieb® table features a humorous golf theme and a mischievous gopher, reminiscent of the movie 'Caddyshack'. Players are challenged with completing rounds of golf in order to activate high scoring multi-ball modes. It has an extensive set of rules and great features such as the roulette Gopher Wheel, a Volcano up-kicker on the playfield and the animated gopher named Gunther, who sits on top of the back glass and shrugs his shoulders in sync with audio that taunts the player. 3,500 units of the table were produced.

The Table of the Month is Elvira and the Party Monsters™.  This great table is just for you, this month, for free.

Dan Reynolds (Pezpunk)

I've always been a big fan of pinball, but I had mostly forgotten about it until my wife bought me "Pinball Hall of Fame:  The Williams Collection" for the Wii some years ago.  When The Pinball Arcade came out for iPad, I fell even deeper into the abyss and to make a long story short, my basement now sports lovely real-life examples of my two favorites from TPA:  Star Trek: The Next Generation and Black Hole!

Steffen Reinhart (Cyborg_1202)

Hi! My name is Steffen and I'm a pinball addict. There, I said it. :-)

I'm 42 years old and living near Frankfurt/Germany. I've always found pinball to be a fascinating and captivating pastime. I don't know why exactly... The lights? The sounds? The simple, yet ever so challenging goal of keeping the ball in play? Probably the sum of it all. Even as a child, if we were going somewhere and there was a pinball machine, I had to play it (even though I didn't really understand what was going on there - it just was so much fun!). My parents were usually happy to oblige as it was an easy way to keep me safe and busy at the same time.

Life went on and with almost no opportunities to play, my pinball passion was almost forgotten - when suddenly it came back in full force during my time in the military. There, I was introduced to two pinball machines which were soon to become my favorite tables ever: "The Addam's Family" and "Twilight Zone". Every single opportunity I got was spent to play the crap out of these two tables. And back then, won replays had real value... :-)

Anyway, my time there eventually came to an end and I couldn't help but feeling a sense of loss. So I did, what every sane man would do, and bought a used "Twilight Zone" table, fixed it up, pimped it up and enjoyed it ever since... That could have been the end, but then: along came the "Pinball Arcade" - enabling me to relive fond memories and discover tables I never knew existed.

Ironically, despite owning the real table, I didn't win the TZ tournament... But, being a Star Trek fan, I'm more than happy with the TNG win. :-) Thanks, Farsight!

Elvira and the Party Monsters is the Free Table this Month!
...she's also bringing you your hint for Table Pack 19.

You need to see TPA on the PS4, looks amazing, got some sound issue which will hopefully be fixed soon, but this version is so much better than any of the others I have played.

Can't wait for the PC version to get cabinet support so I can build my own mini cab.

Sound is not a big deal as they are original ROM sounds.

Yeah, I have all the tables on my iphone, but I find that too hard to play compared to the PS4 on a 50" TV. I don't mind there only being season 1 tables at the moment, cause it makes me focus achieving all the goals for each table. Still find No Good Gofers a terrible table though.

Even without a "proper" cabinet mode it still plays brilliantly on a video-pin. It's gotten to the point as soon as the local milkbar owner sees me coming he fires up "Haunted House" before I even get inside! Great service ;)

Black Rose finally now available for iPad/iPhone etc. Apple had issues with Farsight offering a season pack without having any more than one table to start with (I think they're cracking down on that sort of thing).

Hint for next month seems to indicate we'll finally be getting Black Knight 2000! For those who need reminding, the most epic pinball theme ever (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCKDvjVzpNQ) (and a not-as-bad-as-you-think mash-up with... well, it's a surprise ;) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybU4wsGHbyQ))

Not sure about turning the screen around, there is a forum for PINBALL ARCADE FANS, that may help
Steam from what I can gather is another IOS-Independent Operating System , I think that is what it stands for.
But PS4 so far is absolutely incredible with the physics and lighting. It is just awesome to play machines you may not have or see again.
or
can't afford some of them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ridiculous some f the prices people want.

I may be wrong and please let me know if i am, but is there a reason the price has almost doubled in this season?

I have switched from an iphone to android and i got 22 tables for $40, 18 for $44 and now season 3 seems to be $44 for 10!?!

Again i may be wrong but not seeing the value here yet, if they were licenced i could understand but based on what they have released so far this season......

They are licensed! you could always put $2 in a real machine for one game and that would cost you a fortune too, let alone finding one to play as we have collected them all  *%*
still pretty cheap if you ask me.

Steam originally was an on line gaming platform pc based. You buy and download your games and play on line with a large community. They then ported to Unix and now offer special controllers and customisable PC's. It's really a serious players option that is not Microsoft or Sony. Hope that helps. Z

As a newbie to the hobby (and a huge gamer) I picked up Pinball Arcade as soon as I found out about it. It's a great game and the physics are top notch. I also play Pinball FX2. Both games are brilliant, but I think Arcade has slightly more realistic ball physics. It's been an invaluable game in helping me figure out which machine I'll buy as my first pin. For a younger guy like me who never had the chance to play every machine when pinball was at its peak, it's a great way to sample games which you just don't see much anymore in the wild. That said, FX2 has some fantastic table designs. Both are definitely worth a look!

Re: Season 3 TPA pricing: Existing seasons were a bit cheaper as they were still porting tables from their old games, Williams and Gottlieb Hall of Fame. This season is all new titles done from scratch. And their quality is off the charts compared to previous releases, IMO.
Plus this season for PC we should be getting proper cabinet support (that supports DMDs!) and upgraded lighting to match PS4.

Flipper physics still need to be tweaked (being unable to live catch, drop catch, tap pass etc. is infuriating) but despite that, I still love it!

I think Highspeed is up next...

I run it via Mac computer and it allows for screen rotation but haven't seen the function for dmd, yet...
Title: Re: The Pinball Arcade
Post by: soundasleep on April 16, 2014, 01:53:05 AM
There's no support for separate screen DMD as yet. The best you can do is use something like Actual Multiple Monitors to mirror the DMD to a second display. It does work, but depending on which OS you're running there are some tricks involved and it may not play nicely with PinballX.

Zen's added a movable DMD to PinballFX2 and it's amazing how much of a difference to makes to gameplay.

Just played AFM on Pinball Arcade and noticed the stroke of luck hole (on a virtual machine) is worn and blown out like on a typical heavily used sited machine.

I'm all for authenticity, but couldn't they have found a better quality example AFM to use as their model?

That's really interesting! As mentioned, they quality across tables really does vary but that's so odd.

I thought Cue Ball Wizard played really well compared to the table I used to own, but I've been told others have strange physics shortcuts and such.

Look at the stroke of luck hole. What the?   ^&^

It should be a square shaped cut, not a gradually degrading curve.

Attention to detail I guess. Loving Who Dunnit and BK2000 on my PS4.
The games I would like to own I now have on this media. Very cool indeed.

54 recreated tables available as of today.

Earthshaker just got released in the last few days and Sega's Starship Troopers will be out in January.

And the big one - Addams Family (both standard and Collectors Edition) will be out in February.  ()

Well the kickstarter paid off:

Out now on just about every platform you can think of.

I notice they had to alter Uncle Fester's image on the playfield to get around the Christopher Lloyd license fee.

Shame, TPA image looks like a WW1 gas mask. As long as simulation plays OK, not a problem.

Anyone tried the upgraded DX11 version of Pinball Arcade?

Apparently there are big improvements in ball physics/lighting et al from the DX9 version.

While it is great news and I am happy to hear it......

Booo to Stern wanting a separate app! I always wondered why RBION was the only Stern title on PA.

Can't we all just get along?  <.>

Be interesting to see how Farsight replicates the unfinished code on so many Stern machines.

Hit a target and the screen goes blank?

it would be good especially if they have game like Game of Thrones all digitally rendered it would speed things up alot. But I did see a funny comment on Pinside as Farside are known for issues as well:

"Now that I think about it this is the perfect match. Incomplete Stern code running on incomplete Farsight software."

You'd think this company would have built up enough working capital behind it by now with 65 tables released and having sold their operating system to just about every platform on the market, instead of relying on the public to keep putting their hands into their pocket to fund a new table?

The purpose of a kickstarter is for a new company to get a foothold in the market, not to fund itself in perpetuity.

As always, I'll be happy to pay for the table once it is released, but I'm not going to fund an already well established company to create it.

"To summarize, we first acquire an actual physical pinball table that we have the rights to re-create digitally."

Well at least the company has built up a nice 65 plus physical pinball collection in the process.   &&

totally agree, cash grab as the kickstarter products are dearer than the actual released item when available and quite often the public get it before the kickstarter people

also to with games like Game of Throne and Ghostbusters all the CAD files are done and rendered so not alot to be done in the rendering department

Still cheaper than the real thing. Also good if you are unable to play the real thing for various reasons.
Glad it is getting done on a digital format, spread the love of the silver ball!  *%*
