thanks for all the comments

this morning, I looped a wire replacing the EOS switch and it worked. Therefore as you all said is correct , something in the switch. I then pulled the flipper mechanism all apart and and fixed 30 years of dodgey work. I pulled the EOS apart and ground the faces. All seems fine with it know. Other problems on the machine to follow

Never heard of a game we cannot fix !
