I've got the combo unit and I am happy with mine. I wouldn't recommend it for every day commercial use but for the hobbyist it works a treat. Old story of you get what you pay for.
I ordered an RT985 vacuum desoldering station this morning, costing me $180 inc freight. i may well, as you say 'get what i pay for' but i figured its worth trying one at that price
we'll see how it goes anyway
