It is NOT glorified and that is the entire point of the film, there is only one scene in the film that is violent and gut wrenching. The main focus of this is moral fibre, how people can be manipulated by poor role models and trust.
It deems the taking of another life to be abhorent unlike ALL action or horror films out of the US that does glorify violence with large body counts soaked in blood and gore in the name of entertainmet. Total recall was on tv last night...not a bad movie but way way over the top in the blood and death stakes for no reason at all other than to soak up screen time and give Arnie some supposedly cool things to say. We are desensitised to the claptrap that eminates from the states  but as soon as we see anything violent and ghastly close to home under the microscope with drama and character the main driving point we don't want to look.
This is not a horror movie, this is a character drama through the eyes of a very impressional young man slowly drawn into a bizzare and tangled web of distrust and deceit.
