Anyone else seen this movie? It is based on the bodies in the barrells case from the 90's.
I caught it a few weeks ago by chance and it hit me like a slegehammer, I can't remember a film ever having such a impact on me before. I am still thinking about it reguarly.
I would not say that i enjoyed it, rather I endured it.
Ghastly subject matter it may be but a compelling and engrossing Aussie movie it certainly is if you can get past what it is. It won a special judges award at cannes and is a very fine debut from a very obviously talented filmaker with only one Professional actor, the rest are all locals who have never acted before...wow...I just hope he changes genres for his next project. I don't think i could sit through another film of this genre with him at the helm, it is just too close to real it is excruiating at times.
Approach with caution as it may very well upset and offend some viewers. 

I can't say I have but a guy at work was telling me about it and he had a similar reaction to you. He was a little disturbed and couldn't put it out of his mind....
