DE's don't get a lot of love because most I've seen have not been correctly prepared for the home market. I think more work goes into these games, and this is why they "seem" to be problematic - But they are more reliable than Bally / Williams when done right
I'd have to agree with you on that Nino. Once the bugs are ironed out when you first get a DE machine, they rarely, if ever, play up again. Give them a bit of love and they return the favour.
