All he had to do was on sell it on eBay and save everyone the hassle and grief. I know these things usually end up in favour of the buyer but I am going to fight it and see where it gets me.
It wouldn't surprise me if his machine has other issues which have killed the display and he thought just putting in another display would fix it but it didn't work for him.
