Re: KISS Thread

Kiss would be a big selling machine no matter what it was or how it played.  Whether you like them or not or whether you think they are over the hill or whatever, it would sell a massive amount of numbers I reckon.  As a theme, Kiss would be bigger than AC/DC around the world.  Even if margins were small, I think Kiss would be well worth doing.  Publicity alone would be well worth it.

As long as there is not a nett loss it would have to be good to get pinball out to the masses again.  Remember there are spare parts to be sold.  If I was Mr Stern, I would be making my own mods to sell to the public as well.  Imagine genuine authentic mods straight from the manufacturer before anyone else gets the chance to get their hands on a machine to develop and make the mods.......$$$$$$$ to be made there I'd say.

My sentiments exactly, Blair....also like your idea of Stern factory mods. Like when you buy a car and have the option of purchasing all the extras. As an example, I want to buy the cheapest machine Stern brings out, but I like the option afterwards of adding my own mods. Hopefully someone brings this up with Gary Stern when he's in Australia. I'd also like someone to press him on KISS again. Sure, we've heard the forum stories about costs being too high, but I don't think we're hearing the whole story on this, or it's in the pipeline. As you said, it's too big of a cash cow to write off simply because of "licensing costs". Both AC/DC and KISS have toy pinball machines (Beatles Yellow Submarine also), so KISS pinball machines must be fresh in the minds of the powers that be.

Cheers!
Adam.
