Typically the only reason Stern do reruns is because one of their large purchaser distributor customers has asked for it. My guess is it would be one from Europe as they sold well over there (comparatively speaking), since sales were not strong in the US (and with a bit of digging can still be found NIB from many US distribs.) This was the reason for the Tron rerun, anyway.

Over 90% of Stern sales to Europe are to operators (via their local distributors).

Other smaller distribs (including Aussie distribs) are notified and then piggyback off this run and put in an order for themselves to boost the numbers.


A company that goes full steam into announcing or making reruns without firstly assessing demand from their MAJOR buyers will end up with egg on their face (or losing a lot of money in wasted inventory).
