We have terrible problems in Vic with jet ski operators.
I agree with you - a family boat which you and the family can all enjoy together without having a huge impact on those around you... 
I hear ya. Mate of mine's sister in law had an accident last year (living in the USA) on one of these death traps - literally - killed her friend. Horrifying situation, haven't heard if charges were laid, but she can be sure she will end up bankrupt, but worst of all, I don't think she's slept in six months.......
