Yeah, it's pretty simple economics - capital investment and maintenance are both higher with pins, so unless you are making back much more than other forms of arcade games then it isn't going to make sense. Using either a return on capital measure or a return on investment measure, a pinball machine is going to have to drag in a whole lot more coin than a video game to make it worthwhile.

But if you don't keep a pinball machine maintained you don't make any money from it.
