I prefer the stick and glue method myself, but I don't feel it being called a "bit of a bodge up" is rude, just another's opinion. I have regularly filled under playfield holes with a couple of toothpicks and superglue, light sanding and a solid fill is achieved. Quick and easy solution, especially for small holes where Knead It is hard to get into.
