Technically, the 'complete set' is 4 books which includes "the electromechanical era" edition.
True that 
he was supposed to be doing a fifth book; "the solid state era" that never seemed to happen. He was going to do a story in it about my home brew 'Vortex' pin after i sent him photos of it and he liked what he saw. He asked me to do a full write up for the book about the game and how i got into the hobby etc (which i did).
I'm guessing the fifth book was never completed.. can anyone confirm this??
He might be writing up all the 2000-2010 decade perhaps? it would be interesting as it 'should' include a lot more homebrew and independant manufactures that have popped up in very recent years.
