He tried bypassing the eBay regulation of selling the "one arm bandit" by focusing on the ball. It didn't work. If he had the ball in one hand with the Pokie in the background, it might not have been an issue.

How do people sell these things? Gumtree wont allow it either.
I called the SA gaming commission once and nobody there could give a clear answer as to their legality

Depends on the state law regarding gambling devices. They should be ok in NSW.

Bingo machines are also illegal in Victoria, but there's no one in the Gaming Commission that knows what they are. I've seen Video Poker (MA1 based card games) which I used to program and modify when I was a teenager. These were highly illegal, but I see them listed from time to time.

The one arm bandits are instantly recognizable. That's why they are targeted.
