Yes, vinyl is superior. I have a 1978 direct drive turntable and 200 watt amp and have always played vinyl at home. CDs and digital are for the car. Analog sound is richer, warmer and has great depth. Digital sound is clinically tinny. Digital is clean and scratch free, so there are advantages to both.
Vinyl LPs realy started to get good from the early 80s when studio sound recording started to get better.
An example that vinyl is not dead is the recent remasters of Led Zeppelins first 4 albums. They are out in both CD and vinyl LPs.
