I bought a brand new Hakko 808, with stand and extra tips from the US.  Brought a step down transformer locally.  Came to less than $350 including postage

Great piece of gear   Now I wonder how I got along without it!

OK, just to clarify that I'm not ripping anyone off, I purchased mine via RS Components for $490+GST and the additional stand on top of that.

I thought $400 was a fair price given the little to no use its had.

Sheesh....So am I now supposed to knock a further $100??  FFS.....

Sorry, I was not having a go at you, I was just pointing out to the person who regretted missing out that there are other options available.  If i was to do a lot of 'off-site' work I would prefer a 240V model
